Copy X Custom Templates From 1 Style To Other(s)

Despite the system of vb's child styles, many forums do not use this availability as it sometime's causes faults within skins.

And i have been constantly nagged to make some sort of system where your able to simple "Copy" templates from 1 style to another, thus i have made this little system.

Explanation
Using the ACP you follow through the steps set down.

The first step is to choose which style you want to copy the custom templates from.
The second step is to choose which templates to copy, you may choose as many or little as you desire.
The third step is to choose which style(s) you wish to copy your selected templates too.
The fourth step is to confirm the data shown, this page will show the templates you selected and which style you desire to copy them too.
The final step is where the action is carried out and the templates are copied over.

Ability to copy templates to multiple styles instead of just 1 .. even better for us lazy people


Re-download to update to newest version

A useful addon for users with multiple skins and just can't be bothered to manually add templates to all skins for modifications.

Great work ZT: this will be very helpful; even with a well structured parent/child system, sometimes you have modofocations that need to be made across multiple "cousin" styles that have different parnets, but similar grandparents, where the parents are different...

I fail to see how a screenshout would really help in saying exactly what this does, your only using the ACP for this operation, and it is fully explained in my main post. What can i say, it does exactly what it says on the tin .. or the post in this case :)

is there a way to intergrate a systen to copy like a single mode to all the other templets? say like if you have to add a link to the nav bar and you have 10 skings installed that link would be applied to all the navbar templets insted of just that 1? there is a hack out there that dose this but after 1 use it no longer functions unless you have a test templet and keep reverting it thanks for a great mod!!

Great hack. What about an Addon to revert selected templates? Vbulletin allows you to do them all or 1 at a time. Having the ability to do selected groups would be another great leap forward.

This hack is fantastic! Got my vote for HOM.

I'm curious how difficult it would be to add a "compare" feature? Basiclly add the ability to select 2 or more styles and on submit get side by side columns of the templates in each style, that way you can see which are in one and not the other. Know what I mean?

No, this system copies "custom" templates from 1 style to others, so say if you installed a hack, and the templates were only added to 1 style, you could use this to easily copy those templates to all your other skins :)

I just use this on a new style I chose and all template modifications to my default style have nicely been copied over to the new style..

I took a quick look at it, I think the only necesarry edit is to change:

Btw, I did a test, copied some templates, and it worked. But it's still at own risk!

THe only file edit it does is in was in the admincp index file (navigation), this is replaced by a .xml file, so just edit the admincpnav.xml (or something) file in includes/xml.
If you can't work with xml just open it, and you 'll understand it!

I installed this one ages ago and it was perfect, I would love this one for 3.5.1 Also i just installed that one that u recomended, and now im getting database errors becaue it is trying to read template when it should be reading vb3_template for me, i need a fix for this over at the other thread thanks
