Hi,
I really like the way the hacks are now displayed like that at the top of the thread. Are you guys considering releasing it? I would like to use it for a downloads forum for example instead of my current system.
Thanks again,
-Jason

It's a Xenon's modification, and you have to wait !

Ok, so why not? I mean this website is dedicated to hacks, why not relase the ones you use here? Kind of hypocritical eh?

Does every website release its custom hacks? No
If we released every hack here we would no longer be unique :)

The factor time is another important thing.
for me it's easy to write some hacks, when i can code em directly and test around, do the db changes and all.
but putting all those little changes in a installfile, is a lot of work.also i would then have to think about different configurations like tableprefixes and whatever.
And of course as Zak said, uniqueness is also a cool factor ;)

I can completely understand the time constraints but if every one did the same then there would be no hacks ;-)
I though VB.org was the only official hack site? What more uniqueness do you need! ;-) Its not like you guys are dying for traffic or users, I would love to have 1/100th of this sites!
I hope you reconsider, as I said, I would like to use it for downloads since there really is nothing comparable. If not no hard feelings.
Thanks again,
-Jason

The thing is, it's not even that hard.
Most of this modification has to do with style, so it's really easy...

Yea something similar can be done with just template modification.
At any rate releasing hacks used here to the public can have other problems aswell. If a bug was in the code and someone who downloaded the hack found it before we did they could use the bug to exploit this site. I re-call something like this happening before..:)
