Custom search field

Every saturday we have a competiton on our forum, ex: "Who wrote the most popular thread", "Wich thread is most provocative" etc. To find the winners we use polls among the users, and now we miss a custom search field to help us find "todays threads".

What I'm looking for is a custom search field that displays all threads started on a specific date, not only all posts.
