yes, this is what needs to be in your creat.sound folder. If you have these files in there, put your mp3 files in there as well then double click the convert64.bat file and it should bring up a dos prompt that converts the mp3's to .rbs

Ok ok ok ok please everyone calm down. When I did this on phpBB.com it was not as popular, ehm im going to sound like an arse now, this mod will not be supported and is being removed if you want it its $5.99! lol joke

Ok first thing

This is my first vbulletin mod or whatever you want to call it, i came from work checked my gmail i said one person replied so now its three pages, will everyone please read other posts as most questions have been asked and answered by other users before posting. Its going to be hard for me to keep checking this and offering support, you must read the Instructions.txt for the radio.blog sound converting :D

It works on windows operating system, i dont know about mac and bat files, sometimes you need to check that only mp3s are in there and not txt or wma files are in, make sure you can run .bat files.

Second of all i need one more person to partner this mod with, it would be nice if someone else other than me can keep checking and offering support and helping. please email me khaleelm@gmail.com

Some questions

If I got you right: I can add all my songs I purchased legally and my forum users can listen to them? And that's really not illegal?

You place whatever songs you want to have, the users can only listen and stream them they cannot steal them unless they are using radio.blog and your sounds/ directory is open (meaning people can see everything in the folder thats why i put a blank .php file, other wise check www.radioblogclub.com)

its a radio people, your not distributing mp3 files....relax.[/qoute]
read that ^

[quote]U do dbl click on .bat file with the mp3 files on ur pc and then upload the rbs files correct. cause i have the mp3 files in my create.sound dir but when I dbl click on the .bat file it does nothing. I kept checking the sounds dir but the .rbs files never appeared.

Hmm double check you dont have txt or wma files and can use .bat files and also run an update on update.windows.com your pc may need command prompt updates with the new service pack, more problems check the www.radioblogclub.com forum and dont please for keep sakes say its this mod as they support there player not the mod just search on that site for common questions like that dont bring my mod into it :D

Is this for a mac pc?
Not checked for mac mate, can some beta person check this?

Finally, again please someone think about helping me out with this as im kind of new, also ill update the file soon with a FAQ file and some new radioblog stuff along with a program (opensource keeping it legal ) that may allow you to run the bat with no problems, oh im being silly now but if your site is harry potter related or you want to link my sites or this mod feel free to link www.khaleel.co.uk or www.death-eater.net using http://fan.death-eater.net/ for links again ill try keeping up enjoy my mod

you could try Cool Edit Pro 2.1 (http://www.softpedia.com/public/cat/11/1/4/11-1-4-6.shtml) it has a free demo.

Personaly I just used the 32 converter instead of the 64, The smaller the file to more sound quality u lose but i have min at 32 and it sounds as clear as any audio streaming site I heard I mean when I had them at 64 they sounded great but they were twice the size.
here are some size examples:
Duration__ Bit Rate___ Size_____ 32convert
0:10:17___ 192kbs__ 14.1 meg__ 2.35 meg
0:06:18___ 128kbs__ 5.78 meg__ 1.44 meg
0:03:02___ 128kbs__ 2.80 meg__ 712kb
so thats to just give you an ideal if you go less the sound quality will start getting bad.

You can try diet mp3 (www.google.com/search?q=dietmp3) you can compress upto 15 songs on the trial or use the other convert file. Please stop asking this now as this thread is for support of the mod, you can pm me if you want though :D

Well it seems like many useres are intrested in it plus he made the instuctions on how to install it on your vb, he also made up the template on what to embeaded in. You cant just go to the blog sit and install it on your so he is showing you how so yes I would consider it a hack just like the stock hacks and news hacks.

Hmm, not that I know of, I think its called Subscriptions and Promotion to set things like this in vBulletin, you could create a forum so they can add the .mp3 or .rbs files and then you could place them on your server sounds directory, however this is now going on the boarder lines of file sharing, you are sharing and getting music for free then, unless your server on country allows warez I dont think its going to be legal :nervous:

Im sorry you feel this way, I assure you ill take a look and re-do the entire zip to make it more user friendly, I dont understand your point about being an-uncomplete hack, my modifcation is simply intergrating the radioblog script for vbulletin members, what do you mean by having to read other messages for getting the full hack? which messages? You need to relax man... no need for raising your blood pressure over a hack.

This sounds like another great hack... some people just don't realize the developers don't have 24 hours a day to think about FREE hacks and sometimes forget to update them... or just simply run out of time.

Relax, take a breath... take a nap... or HIRE someone to fix your problem... don't +++++ about free stuff...

woah... great mod!!! installed in five mins and works like a charm :)

one (newbie) question: how do i restrict access to the radio?? i read the subscriptions answer and was a little confused?!!? is there a more straightforward way to restict access to certain usergroups? (via navbar/forumhome for example?)

sorry, i know this is not really a vbulletin radio support question - more of a vbulletin config question. but i figured anyone else who installed this might have the same issue. and, better still, some advice.

thanks in advance...... [install]

Yes, I needed to know this myself so I could update it LOL! But vBulletin Subscriptions allows you to give someone access to a certain forum when they have paid for something so in this forum you could have a link to the radio OR try Usergroups > Promotions and when they have reached a certain post they can join (automatically) a new higher group which may have access to the radio.php file (to change access permissions to this) Read this thread (here (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=62164) as you can see it allows user permissions system as well on the PHP files you simply edit radio.php

but how to remove the radio.blog logo?

its more like a radio.blog's radio rather than my sites' radio since the radio.blog logo is there, so I prefer only having the radio.blog copyright at the bottom.

This cannot be removed, the flash file is protected and to do this you would need the flash document (.fla) please go to www.radioblogclub.com and you can request it from astro, even I dont have it.

to run a radio station it is perfectly legal, thou you have to pay a royalty fee every time you play the song, like .05 cents or something like that

that is for licensed music

japanese music korean music and such i believe is free to play unlicesed that is like anime music

The music is yours, as long as its converted to ".rbs" format, and you have placed "index.php" to block people from seeing your /sounds its ok. Because your allow them to stream and listen to your music, they cant download it, and they cant upload it so there is no sharing or giving going on, its just listening

Important stuff!!!

All of the fils here are protected under copyright!! you MAY NOT find a way to find them on my server and download them. they aren't even mp3's, so don't try. this here is my official notice about the us copyrights on these files.

This is not a download source, a piracy web, a p2p network, In no way am I providing these files as downloadable material.

this is perfectly legal, just as internet radiostations like live365 are legal. I am NOT responsable for any illegal actions you decide to take, because I'm telling you not to take them! :p loser.

How to listen & browse

ok, simple enough. just click on 'popup' on the radio interface. I didn;t want ot make this a popup-only, or popup-access only because people with popups disabled would have a problem
Taken from here (http://moments.mo.funpic.org/radio.blog/index.php)

See here http://www.radioblogclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8&highlight=legal

and see http://www.radioblogclub.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=6 as you can see its ok and is discussed all the time :squareeyed:

khaleel,

I'm trying to put the popup inside a template that is done with logician template mod but I'm having problems.

If I try to put radio.php code into it it only shows the blank page and popus the radio blog but the template stuff is not there. If I try to do a <?php include_once("radioblog.swf"); ?> it prints out the code of the file and the playlist it self does not appear.

Has you or anyone here have tried to put this inside a template?

thanks!

I'm having the oddest error.

If I put in a plain old php page, all of my tracks show up fine:

http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/radio.blog/

But if it's in a template, it only shows random ones, and does not play.

http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/view.php?pg=ssjukebox

Permissions on all files are exactly the same. Any ideas? The only change is that I moved everything from the radio.blog folder into the forums directory.

If it's a path issue coded into the SWF, how do I use a template located in a subdirectory?

For the record: This addon, especially with the type of forum I'm running it on (a music forum) is absolutely awesome. Thanks very much!

I managed to get this working using Logician's template, by loading it as an iframe within the template, like so:

<iframe src="http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/radio.blog/index.php" name="radio" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" width="220" height="300"></iframe>

It seems that the playlist "populator" script isn't all that stellar at detecting bulk uploads. I uploaded about a dozen tracks at once, and only one or two would show up. I waited about 10 minutes, and touched each of them in turn, and once the timestamp was different enough, it recognized the complete list.

For those of you without shell access to your webservers, you might want to just upload them one at a time, about 5-10 minutes apart if you're having problems with the playlist not showing all tracks.

Hope this helps someone out.

About to say use an iframe, as for the upload problem, im creating a seperate addon for this called Sound Uploader, It will use a upload form which will upload all tracks that you want directly in the folder without having to access CHmod or CPanel or ftp. I have read simaler problems on the track uploading issues, I recommend you convert them all using convert32 (less quality compared to convert64.bat, then zip it and upload via cpanel. Delete cookies and extract, dont chmod, and it worked for me. Ill keep you updated, by sending an update.

Typo. Its meant to be "It should NOW look like this" and the image there I have forgotten to include, I used a example URL instead, this will be changed on the next update.

To sort permissions out I will explain how to do this on the next update, I used this code for the template here (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=62164) .

There is a vB code aswell, (not the exactual code syntax)

I noticed that people can go directly to the radio by typing mydomain.com/forum/radio. Is it possible to make the radio to only work when people go through the forum?

Copy and paste index.php from radio.blog

Make a new file called index2.php and paste the code and upload it to radio.blog

In navbar find

<td class="vbmenu_control">
<A HREF="javascript:popUp('http://www.totalwebaddresstoyoursite.com/path/to/radio/?autoplay=1')">Radio</A>
</td>

Replace with

<td class="vbmenu_control">
<A HREF="javascript:popUp('http://www.totalwebaddresstoyoursite.com/path/to/radio/index2.php?autoplay=1')">Radio</A>
</td>

Go to the old index.php that you have select all code

replace with

<b>Not allowed to view this, please login into the <a href="/forums/">forums</a> and select the radio from the navbar

Now people cant go that way, also you can try this, instead of placing this new code as seen above and below here
<td class="vbmenu_control">
<A HREF="javascript:popUp('http://www.totalwebaddresstoyoursite.com/path/to/radio/index2.php?autoplay=1')">Radio</A>
</td>

You can encrypt that html so no one can see where the file is for security, example

place this new encypted code

<script>
<!--
document.write(unescape("%5BCODE%5D%3Ctd%20class%3D%22vbmenu_control%22%3E% 0D%0A%3CA%20HREF%3D%22javascript%3ApopUp%28%27http %3A//www.totalwebaddresstoyoursite.com/path/to/radio/index2.php%3Fautoplay%3D1%27%29%22%3ERadio%3C/A%3E%0D%0A%3C/td%3E%5B/CODE%5D"));
//-->
</script>

To do this go to http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex9/encrypter.htm and put the following code in the text box and hit encrpyt making sure you set your domain paths etc

<td class="vbmenu_control">
<!--encypt_start();-->
<A HREF="javascript:popUp('http://www.totalwebaddresstoyoursite.com/path/to/radio/index2.php?autoplay=1')">Radio</A>

Pretty hungry at times it can be ok with bandwidth as its gently streamed other times it will waste it very quickly I suggest before you convert it to .rbs format you take a glimpse of mp3 compression software. Run a query on google for it, or use the convert32 file for lower bit rate quality and size reduction

I would not recommend this since Its not neat and tidy ;) but try doing this.
Go to
This is the playlist.php
This randomizes the playlist
<?PHP

$y=1;
$i=1;
$track = "";

$rbsPath = "sounds/";
$rbsExt = ".rbs";

if ($dir = opendir(".")) {
while (false !== ($file = readdir($dir))) {
if ($file{0} != "=") {
if (strrchr($file,".") == $rbsExt) {
$last_mod = filemtime($file);
$track[$last_mod] = utf8_encode($file);
$i++;
}
}
}
}

closedir($dir);

header ("Content-type: text/xml");
echo "<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\"?>\n";
echo "<tracks>\n";

if ($track != "") {

// * Shuffled Playlist
// * by moeli
// * http://www.moeli.com/scripts/

$shuffled = array_rand($track, count($track));
foreach($shuffled as $skey) {
$newlist[$skey] = $track[$skey];
}
while (list ($key,$val) = each ($newlist)) {
echo "<track trackMod=\"".$key."\" title=\"".utf8_encode(htmlentities(substr($val,0,strrpos($v al,'.'))))."\" path=\"".$rbsPath.htmlentities($val)."\"/>\n";
$y++;
}
}

echo "</tracks>";

?>

and this if you it alphabetical

<?php
$y=1;
$i=1;
$track = '';

$rbsPath = 'sounds/';
$rbsExt = '.rbs';

if ($dir = opendir('.')) {
while (false !== ($file = readdir($dir))) {
if ($file{0} != '=') {
if ( strrchr($file,'.') == $rbsExt) {
$last_mod = filemtime($file);
$track[$last_mod] = utf8_encode($file);
$i++;
}
}
}
}
closedir($dir);

The radio is pretty easy to make... the flash and so forth.

Can someone possibly turn this into a bigger hack?

By allowing users to 'have their own radio blog' on your site.
Allowing the upload of music, with space limitations by usergroups and subscription based memberships...
Having it extract statistics...
Allowing users to have a webpage within your forum... perhaps just under the top banner... with different information about them... their likes on music... ETC....

I think the possibilities on that are endless, and it can produce a substantial amount of traffic, having your banner on the media player and linking it back to your site... This would definately be great to sites that are dedicated to music... ETC...

Anyone up to doing this? Or no... :ermm:

Hmm.. seems to work fine on my site except for those using Firefox.

*Update*

Found the issue.

The file named crossdomaine.xml should actually be crossdomain.xml and needs to be in the root of your website. Not sure where its called from, but saw that in my error log.

So I've been messing around with the hack a bit, trying to figure out why, when i click the link in the nav bar it comes out with the appropriate width, but the height takes the full screen.

I have for the life of me no idea why this is happening.

If you can posilby take a look, i would appreciate it.

Jaxx

its happening in both firefox and IE.

and sorry about the login, its working now. I forgot to set the permissions in cmps.

The code is:
<if condition="$show['member']">
<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="javascript:popUp('/forums/radio.blog/index.php','width=222,height=300,location=no,menub ar=no,resizable=no,scrollbars=no,status=no')">Radio</a></td><else /></if>

That was after using just a straight up
<if condition="$show['member']">
<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="javascript:popUp('/forums/radio.blog/index.php?$session[sessionurl]')">Radio</a></td><else /></if>

I've attached images of both browsers.

khaleel

Basically make sure the navbar template has the code

<if condition="$show['member']">
<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="javascript:popUp('/forums/radio.blog/index.php','width=222,height=300,location=no,menub ar=no,resizable=no,scrollbars= no,status=no')">Radio</a></td><else /></if>

not the other one as seen in my template install instructions, please show me your navbar ENTIRE code if this does not work, the next bit of code you showed me is useless, replace it with the one above as that one is not calling out javascript popup which sizes the window

but i installed a Chat hack and something when wrong and the forum went down.

the radio.blog folder is in the testing directory so it read like this

www.url.com/TestingVB3.7/radio.blog and the index.php is in there too

now, i can delete the " Radio " temeplate and every thing is the same

the nav bar link goes to www.url.com/testingVB3.7/radio.php

Step 3 - edit radio.blog/index.php
<title>RADIO.BLOG</title> to <title>Radio</title>

step 4 - create a new template and paste Code
Were is the correct spot to put my url twice, i have moved it all over and can tell no difference

i do have a radio.php but that not what is play the music....?

it works fine as long as you type the radio.blog/index.php to the url

but the nav bar link makes it go to the radio.php

maybe i have the radio.blog/index.php in the wrong spot?
its in with the radio.blog files

its a redirection that says to use the template radio to open the page...

Loco Macheen, Im still trying to solve this issue, it varies for each person, im working on it. So sorry though.

AmpSul

In navbar find

radio.blog/index.php

Meaning the location of the link and replace it with

www.locationoftheradioyouwantandwhereit.com/radioishereonanothersite

it will work :)

Recently a few of my bulletin board members asked me if it was possible for me to separate the song by authors into separate folders and yet play it all on a single player. So my question is, is that possible, if yes, how?

thanks in advance :)

Couple of questions :)

1) When I search for songs on radioblogclub.com, my songs appear in the results. Do all the websites get crawled by them somehow? If so, how can I stop it?

2) I have had someone put my radio on their website as their own using iframe. Is there a way for me to stop this? I don't have enough bw to share with another site. thank you and any help.

khaleel

gldtn no sorry.

Right, yes radioblogs do get crawled eventually. To stop this you need a flash hotlink protection file like miniclip.com use, I can provide the code or a script to do this, pm me if you want it or better email me khaleelm@gmail.com

I wish I could get confirmation from the RIAA about wether this is legal or not, they completely ignore any emails sent to them.
I know it's been stated that it is, but it just seems to good to be true

As stated before this script is from radioblogclub.com made by astro I used this because of my expertise in flash and placed it on my board and thought id make a simple hack so others can, you can use it on blogs, sites, whatever goto www.radioblogclub.com download and enjoy

Hi Kaleel

I installed this radio and it was almost perfect except that when I use the popup method, it doesn't show a 'unregistered message' if the user is not registered. Furthermore, when I use the full url (i.e. www.url.com/forums/radioblog.index, the user can see it and listen to it without registering.

If you can solve this problems, I would greatly appreciate it

Thanks in advance

my radio.blog is on a separate site to my vbulletin forum... does anyone have any thoughts on how i keep the "remote" radio blog secure?? (given that the hosted radio link is nice and secure - members only)
the same link only my members can see takes me to a site that is public - negating the members-only security.

anyone else having this problem? or have ideas on how to fix the issue?

any info most welcome :)
