yes it is automatic in usercp i believe if you allow them to have custom avatars:)

For security reasons (=> SessionIDs in Referer-URLs) Avatars will always be stored locally.

thats remote link upload, i dont want to store avatars on my server.

Why? Bandwith?

I've never understood the reasoning behind storing avatars off the server outside of bandwith.

Besides i dont want IE to hang for 5 min because someone uploaded at first a small linked avatar then uploaded a new huge avatar that will take foregver to download.
