The install this modification link is a button that you press to alert the author of the modification that you have installed it. It also means that you get updates about that modification aas they are released. Eg if vBChat 1.01 has a new version 1.02 released then you would be notified about this by email usually including details of the major changes and what you need to do to upgrade from your current version to the new one.

alot of people get confused on this one i noticed.

i think the mouseover effect for the install button should have a little bit of a better description on what the install is for or maybe some type of question mark link with the description next to it so its easier for new people to know what the button really is.

Moved to Site Feedback and yes Johnny that's a better idea. Add a title attribute for the <a> tag Stefan ;)

I think this sounds good. i tried revising it a few ways to make it shorter but couldnt think of anything better but this.

Install this hack is a feature when pressed lets the author of the hack know that you have installed their modification and also gives you instant updates on the modification as soon as they are available.
