ok here's the thing i've got two servers one with excellent bandwidth and tech support when needed but the HD space is some what lacking, but i've got another server which i use for storing files on and the like because it has a huge HD space limit, and was wondering if it's possible when someone uploads a file using the MANAGE ATTACHMENTS option it would upload to the other server and when someone downloads it from the thread on the forum it would get it from the other server ?

does this make any sense to anyone else apart from me :ermm: :ermm:

To "upload" through one to the other is a case of a form action basically, but then you're using the bandwidth from both to see one image, you might as well just set the board up on the other or network them.

If you network the servers and make them "act as one" you will have a better "server". If you're renting from different places you might want to consider ceasing one and buying another from the better provider.

I understand what you're saying but the thing is i've had one server for years and i get good bandwidth usage and service but the hard space allowed is very small, where as the other has a huge hard drive limit, so bandwidth usage isn't the problem it's the storage...
and they are different servers, and the option to combined isn't a good idea as i've mentioned one offers good Hard space and ok bandwidth poor tech support the other has excellent bandwidth and top tech supportbut poor hard drive space.

thanx for the reply :squareeyed: :squareeyed:

I have a similar problem, my users are in Hong Kong so my promary server is in HK too but local HK laws are quite strict on what I can host on a HK (china) based server in the way of attachments and images. Im not talking porn either. Political pictures and the like.

I have 2 servers in a US datacenter. Using them for the Vbulletin main server is not practical because of the huge locally generated (hk) traffic but we if could have users upload to our US server we could allow a lot more freedom to them.
