Bannr/Image in Forum

I'm looking for a hack that allows a banner ad to be put into the forum list, that can be linked to another website... I've seen this before, but can not seem to find the right search terms to search on...

For example

- Discussion Forum 4

- External Forum 1
<banner image> - when clicked it opens new window of external site
