View Full Version : Auto-Generated Moderator - anyone to avoid?

Hello,

My Situation:

I would like to set to users as "Admin's" on the board, and also add them as moderators to a few forums. I have created a user/group permission which gives them access to all the forums. (delete/edit posts etc...) The only thing is when I try to move them to the group, then update the moderators page, there user/group permission defaults back to the "!Auto-generated moderator Please leave! (username)"

Any ideas why it's doing this?

I've tried removing there autogenerated permission group profile thingy. Then removing them as a moderator. Edit there user settings to use the Admin group permission I setup earlier, then re-add them as a moderator. And boom, goes back to the auto-generated profile.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

When you type them on the moderators page, it puts them in the autogenerated group. The way moderators are actually found is those who have admin edit permissions for that specific forum...

All you need to do is add them as Mod to the appropriate forums, then edit the user group permissions so that they can access the control panel etc. I thought vB already gave them Cpanel access if they were already an Admin but I may be wrong :)
