Member info viewing restrictions

Have searched but unable to find what I'm looking for.

Is there a possible way of restricting certain member info to certain member groups.

Ideally I would like to be able to set the following restrictions:

Admins, Mods, Registered members:
can view all member info in all areas.

Guests, not logged in:
can view member list, member profiles and who's online but cannot view e-mail contact, PM contact or IM contact info.

If the second restriction is not possible, is there a way to allow them to view member list, who's online etc but prevent them from viewing member profiles?

Any advice appreciated.

I've been told that this might be possible using conditionals - but being quite new to VB, I have no idea where these conditionals should go or in what format they should be written.

Any help would be appreciated, even if it's just to point me in the right direction.
