Hi,
I am running vbadvanced on the site but I have a problem. As soon as my members login on the first page (not me because I am the administrtor) this comes up
"alanc, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation."
I dont think I have put any permissions on the front page.
Do you know what it could be?
Thanks for the help
Phil

This was a problem we encountered with our site initially and it was because we had denied all members the right to access the "home page" {indeed all pages} by default. We went down the road of dening access globally and then allowing access to forums as required through forum permissions.

A bad thing to do, as it turned out.

The "home page" is the only forum that you cannot specify usergroup access rights to. So I suspect you may have done what we did.

What we had to do was ensure that everyones primary group {we used Registered Useers for this} was allowed access to everything and then remove accesses to individual forums (if needed) from the Registered Users group that would be individually protected by additional usergroups.

Basically the reason you and other admins don't have a problem is because I doubt you have bothered editing the Administrators usergroup to restrict access to anywhere.
