Im made the switch from phpbb to vb in july and im still tring to get the hang of it, Im not good with codding or hacks but I did the import and what lil bit of codding myself ....well with some help from you guy and the guys over at support forum.
I dled a style and found another forum for Nextel related stuff already had it so I did some color work and some more to try to make it look diffrent.
My forum was made just to be a lil bs site with alittle bit of everything but it seems like the nextel/iden community dominated it. So I just want some input from you guys and any ideals you may have and please take it eazy on me thanks lol
My site is www.djjeffa.com/vb
My old Site was www.djjeffa.com/old
and the site that has the same template as mine is www.nextelelite.com let me know if you think I did enought changes to the style so they dont look alike.

the nextelelite site is still very similar to yours, but its colours aren't as loud and seem to work better together.
also your footer is broken on IE6/XP
I like the organization of your forum catagories and your header is pretty good too.

I'm not keen on this at all. I am always honest in my feedback so please don't take my criticism personally. Firstly you have way too much purple. Secondly in your header, footer ad category header you are using far too much bevelling. You should make it less subtle :) I'd suggest introducing another color too :) Good luck with your site

Definitely unique looking, and for someone who was new, it looks like you've come a long way, so cheers. :)
The only things I'd change:
- Forum layout is a little too busy for my tastes.
- "Hello Unregistered click here to report bugs" is way too big
- The font that you're using for the supermod markup makes my eyes bleed
- Some of your icons aren't meshing properly with the dark background. The smiley face posticons http://www.djjeffa.com/vb/images/icons/icon12.gif, the announcement icon http://www.djjeffa.com/designs/cyberhype/statusicon/announcement_old.gif, as well as the sticky thumbtack and the attachment paperclip for example. You can see that they look fine on this light colored background, but on the dark grey the edges are torn looking.
Other than that, it's easy on the eyes and I have a thing for dark skins, so https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2011/01/19.gif everywhere else. :)

The purple in the style looks way out of place. In the header it looks decent but as the category bar colour it just looks bad. Plus it's very bright, makes it very hard on the eyes to even look at for a few seconds.
Also the shoutbox should be moved to the bottom, it deters posting, creates a scroll to get to the main part of your forum list and shouldn't be the main aim of the forum.
