When I try and run the script in my browser like the link said it says this......
"You have to be a super administrator to read private messages, this can be set within config.php"
But I am on my administrator name. Im not sure how I make myself a super admin in config php, can anyone explain? thanks.
I thought I already should be the super admin since I run the site. But I guess I need to change something somehow.

Yes you need to be Super Admin.. Why would you want to read other members "Personal/Private Messages" anyway :(:(
Do you let your members know that you are going to read them :(
If you can read them, they are no longer Personal/Private Messages :(:(

Can't you read them anyway with access to the server database?

In includes/config.php you should find....
// ****** SUPER ADMINISTRATORS ******
// The users specified below will have permission to access the administrator permissions
// page, which controls the permissions of other administrators
$superadministrators = '';
Put your userid in between the two ' ' s if you are the creator/sole admin of the board it's most likely 1.
Btw in regards to reading pms hasn't this argument been done before ? :rolleyes:

I agree, why is there a hack if people shouldn't do it. Who would want to read them anyway? I guess I would to get rid of the leeches that won't pay to advertise but will send private messages with ads in them.
I have not aloud PM for a few years now because of abuse. I would love to offer this option to my members but the scumbags use it as a free advertising ride.
(he he) Any suggestion on how to prevent this from happening. Or is this just the way it is?
