I changed some generic English phrases and saved them in the english language box. Everytime I install a major hack, all changes get wiped out and the box is empty. How can I prevent that?

What hacks are destroying your translations?

You are translating and not editing the real phrase correct?

any hack that is recreating phrases. That happened twice. I have french and english. French remained untouched. And the modified english phrase was copied in english box. That box gets cleared

@Lionel.. if this phrase is generic (from the vb install) it's not supposed to delete even when a new hack.. the goal of reconstruct the phrases is not to refresh these... but if you install hacks that overwrite your old phrases, maybe these phrases are the same...

I've got two specific instances that I noticed

1-the phrase vbulletin message was replaced by mysite Message. Vbulletin Message reappeared

2-I installed the phrase mods from vbulletin template in PM to include the body of the message in the email that user receives on new PM notification. After I stopped getting the body, I went in there and saw that the english box was empty, therefore using the generic one.

I believe the last hack I did was vbjournal.
