Hey, not totally sure if this belongs here but I was hoping you guys could help me out

How would I go about creating a random avatar, where everytime I refresh the page, my avatar changes to another?

I've tried a few ways of going about this, but can't really get any to work, could someone give me a few examples to get a random avatar? I don't really know much about coding so please explain so a newbie like me can understand :ninja:

Please help, thank you in advance :nervous:

vBulletin restricts the avatar uploader to static images, the reason is any dynamic script your member uploads to change their avatar could have a possible back door in it.

So that brings me to the question, do you want this only for yourself, or for all members that post at your forums?

Hi Brad, thanks for the information, I had heard it was a hazard to allow random avatars but I wasn't sure

But is it possible for me, or a select few people on my forum to have random avatars?

I am eternally greatful for any help ;)

Can somebody make something so that only admins (admin panel) can enter this to members profiles?

There was a similar hack for vB2.

Check out our Random Sig / Random Avatar service at http://www.gaming-freaks.net/randsig

It allows you to have a random image like this:

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

RefreshThe page to see my image change...and the best part is that it's a GIF file.

We a have developed a version 2 of this product and are planning on porting it as a vB integrated hack. <----No release date yet - Anyone interested in porting this??
