Howdy
Me looking for something that would allow my group leaders to add users to the usergroup without having the users request to join, then click on approve & etc...
I've spent like a week trying to figure all this out and am afraid that it's too far out of my scope.
What I was thinking was where the group leaders could click on their profile, and there's a button for each usergroup that the group leaders are a leader of then it would say "Add User to <insert group name>" .
I can explain more further if wanted.

Admin CP -> Users -> Search for Users -> *put the name of the user you want to change the usegroup and search for them*
Then you can edit lots of options including Primary Usergroup and secondary usergroup.
If you're changing loads of people, you can have a promotions system do it for you, but comparing registration dates post count and reputation level to values and changing things also.

Doh! Went off on automatic.
What you need is make your usergourp a public joinable usergroup "Public Group Settings -> Public (Joinable) Custom Usergroups"
In fact, looking at it the second time I feel I've missed what you were after, sorry.

I know I can do it that way.
I prefer NOT to.
My group leaders MUST approve everyone who wants to join the specific group.

Well there must be an option somewhere, because I have a public group that can be joined or left without any moderation and that works fine... :(

You do not understand.
I know that I can enable that feature. But this group MUST be moderated. It is a group specifically for ADULTS, in other words 18+.
I just thought that it would be nice to allow my group leaders manually adding someone without having to wait for them to request to join the group.

I see..
What you perhaps need is a hack to the modCP then that allows mods to change usergroups...

This is for secondary usergroups, NOT primary.

I avoided posting unhelpfully some more in case someone else would post.
Since they havn't, I'd offer to work something out only in exchange for money. Sorry, but I'm unemployed and would rather waste my free time trolling than learning enough skills just to make you this one hack. Sorry... :(

Don't worry about it :) I'm unemployed too and a mere college student, so fun for me :p
I know it has to be possible with joinrequests.php. But my knowledge is not that great. I might have to give up and sit down and teach myself more than basic php, lol...

I really need this hack. Let me sum up.
- Group called "Group Moderators".
- "Group Moderator" can add any user to a special group "MyCoolGroup"
( even better would be let him add & remove users from this group too ).
- "Group Moderator" has no permission to change any other user attributes.
