Im sorry and I really hope no ones takes this the wrong way....

Im really tired of going thru thread that have not had any responces to and no one has added any info to...It simply takes up way to much space for unwanted = unanswered thread and questions from members...

It also is very upsetting to see new member who don't have a clue about this and that, yet come here for help and NONE is given (meaning, they start a thread and NO ONE RESPONSE to them), and yet not even a re-direct to the proper thread or forum is given.... those thread are just left unanswered!!!!...That, to me as a business owner, is not right!...It takes up space and sets a bad example for the site!.....

Im requesting, to better this site, not that its bad! to prune threads that have no activity 60 days to be removed if there simply just the thread started, that way when a member does a search thru the site, they will not get all these thread which have been started and not one replys be removed!....

Just a suggestion...

Sorry again If I upset anyone on this!.... :ermm:

about the thread pruning...if they prune the threads...the hacks will disappear. that is sort of, dumb isn't it?

This forum relies on the kind knowledge-sharing of community volunteers. It's not realistic to think that everyone will get help :) Personally I find it disrespectful to the kind volunteers in the community to see people question the value of vBulletin.org because a question goes unanswered. However I do see your point in deleting the threads that haven't got a reply in 60 days. However this would only be useful for the threads that reside in vBulletin Questions and Modification Requests. This place would be better off as an accurate resource than a semi-accurate one.

hmm, we can think about installing a vb cron to remove all unanswered questions older than 60 days.

shouldn't be that hard, if you think it helps :)

Im sorry if you took it that way! I have never talked down about the staff or other members here!

I said to prune threads that have been started and left unanswered for 60 days with no replys at all. Why keep them up and waste space, hell by that time in 60 days Im sure they got there answer elsewhere on the site...

Sorry that I did not clearify my request. These are the areas that Im talking about.

Xenon - that would be a great Idea...This way it keeps the sites updated! and no old unanswered questions just sitting around.

Providing that it includes pruning of question threads only, yes I think it is a good idea.
