old version backups

I have an old 2.2.3 backup of a forum, and a freshly installed 3.0.3 board. is there a way to get the users out of this backup into the 3.0.3 system, or would that require a mod? any help would be greatly appriciated.

Your BEST and SAFEST and QUICKEST bet would be to upgrade to 2.3.5, and then upgrade to vB3.

Ohterwise you can try using Impex the vB2 > vB3 importer, however, the database needs to be at least at 2.2.9, ( at least i think) same as the vB3 upgrade. It is much better to do the upgrade instead of the import.

You just need to restore, and upload the 2.3.5 files and run the upgrade scripts :)
