All of the search engine results for my forums site have the same description of:

"This is a discussion forum powered by vBulletin. To find out about vBulletin, go to http://www.vbulletin.com/"

How can I change this and what are soe of your suggestions? I know there are several hacks out there to index your pages into seacrh engines but I don't know where to start. I really don't think i need thread specific descriptions but if i could just change the one i have posted above that would help.

its in your meta tags. dont know where to find that though. should be somewhere near the style manager.

If I modify the meta tags, will it be changed in earch engines as well? or not until they recrawl the pages?

only if they re-crawl as far as i know.

There's two way of doing it.

First is like what you guys mentioned:-

<meta name="description" content="$foruminfo[description]" >

Change:

$foruminfo[description]

To whatever xxx you feel like replacing

Second:

Login to your admincp> Languages and Phrases> Search in Phrases

"x_powered_by_vbulletin"

Then hit edit: Saw that? Just simply replace "x_powered_by_vbulletin" with whatever xxx you feel like replacing.
