Recent Topics on Homepage

I need a mod that can automatically display recent topics from the forum on the homepage, or any other non-forum page on the website. Does such a mod exist already? I saw one before but it doesn't appear to work.

because the words used in the title of this topic are the exact same words used in some hacks related to this exact need.
