Hello, I've seen this requested a few times, so I thought I'd post it here.

There are a few hacks here at vBulleitn.org for News feeds going into a paticular forum, and I've tryed a couple of them, but didn't really like the way they worked.

So, I decided to look around and see if I could find something better.

I found carp
http://www.geckotribe.com/rss/carp/ (http://www.geckotribe.com/rss/carp/)

There is a free version you can download here
http://www.geckotribe.com/rss/carp/manual/download.php (http://www.geckotribe.com/rss/carp/manual/download.php)

The instructions for creating a module for vBadvanced CMPS are in the zip file as well as a php file with a few examples.

Download and install carp on your webserver.

I hope you like, Enjoy!

There seems to have been a slight problem with the Tech-Unity Boards database.
Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser.

An E-Mail has been dispatched to our Technical Staff, who you can also contact if the problem persists.

We apologise for any inconvenience.

The dreaded message. Can't see your example man.

so.. as the most conservative tradition of hundred and hundred hack in vbulletin.org, I will ask you a question:

"Please, can you post some screnshoot?"
until your live demo is out of service..

:)

What's the advantage with using this as opposed to a javascript version? I have a 4 feed system, is it speed, as I don't want to monkey around with having to install something to the server if I don't have to.

Shiva,

Before I say one way or the other as to which one I think is better, I would need to see the code for yours, but...

Your ability to integrate the graphics the way you did is awesome.

I know this version is simple, much simplier then the Newsfeed with Selector menu I released. This one is very straight forward and leaves little to the imagination, though it can be customized, I dont know if it would do graphics like you have. I think I need to look at carp a little closer.

BTW, do you plan on releasing your version, as I would be most interested in looking at it.

is there a way to include the php locally to the cmps page? some of my rss feeds flake out and cause the forum pages to error. :ermm:

Brian(Tigga) is thinking of doing something of the sort in his next big release of vbAdvanced, but it is not ready yet.

You may want to try this (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=71047), because when the feeds flake, it doesn't look nearly as bad. ;)
