Overall there is little customized other than the color scheme and a new header. Regarding your color scheme, the stark contrast of bright white on pitch black does not work well. I'd reccomend rethinking the color scheme :)

I like the charcoal color; but, you need a better balance of colors. Right now it's just blahimages/newsm/lick.gif

Another thing I noticed right away--there is nothing telling me what the site is about. For example, what is kentucky dsm?
