Maybe...a challenge thread. Say if you wanted to challenge somone, you post a thread and a PM is sent to them. Or how about, automatic polling like:

I think i showed this too you. When you want to battle, you have the option to battle for records or dont. Once you post the thread, it goes to the poll.php and there you set the names in there and start poll. Once someone gets 5 poll votes, the thread automatically closes and the winner gets the win or vice versa.

thats great but how about, on the latest battles, you add the number of votes each battlers currently have?

for example

Also, no one figure out how to force people to put their opponent name in the opponent field when they start a new battle? I remove the hack because I couldn't find any solution for that and people were lazy to do it

Adding the ability to force them to put a name in will also require the system check to see if it's spelled correctly in order to function properly, which is most of the problem.

What I have done is added a page, so when someone clicks on 'New Thread' in that forum it will force them to at least read how to do it, I've also added a how to here https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=609580&postcount=189

Good moderation is the next step, now that it's panfully obvious that they need to enter the users name right, slam the door on threads where they aren't. If it's wrong we know that we have to go database diving to correct it, to me it's too much of a pain so I shut it down and make them start a new one. After doing that to a few of them, people get the idea :) Now, those mistakes rarely happen.

i've ran battle boards since 2000 - i know how easy it is to "callout" someone in a "callout" forum - but what's the point of another forum? it makes it better to be able to callout someone with a click of a button...

and rather than limiting the voters who vote to not being "people in the poll" - it should have a Minimum reply warning so you have to give an explanation - or allow usergroups such as Mods, SM's and Admins to see who actually voted...

and on the backend - one thing i was messin with was a way to Delete records and add records - just incase...

Wow I havent checked this thread for over 3 months since it was first said this release was buggy. I really think that if you rap heads want any kind of successful coding for a battle system you either pick up a book and learn how or break out the cash and pay someone that knows how, because I've been here for a while and the constant request for a battle hack has yet been provided for free, and alot of the ones people charge for (Logik) are faulty or even this very hack still full of bugs. But that's just my opinion on this situation.

can some1 lend a hand for me...I have installed this RBS with the newest edits and still this will not enable on my forums...I am running 3.0.6 vb...the entire hack was done three times...i have no sql errors, no poll errors...i go to admincp and add the forum from the drop down...it says please wait while you are redirected and brings me back to the same battle system options page...in my forum...the battle system is not activated...when i create a new thread the options are not there and when i reply the options for the system is not there...any ideas how to activate RBS or did i do anything wrong?

There are just too many ways to cheat and my memebrs are getting pissed.

- People are signing up with new accounts just to vote for themselves and their boys.
- People are casting votes before the challenger even gets a chance to drop his verse.
- Battles aren't counted because ignorant fools can't spell challenger names right.

It's not worth it. Im going back to letting my mods run battles. Much more control that way and people have to actually post in the thread and say why they voted. Then the mod closes the thread and awards the win and loss.

Im just gonna make a special admincp panel for the mods to award wins and losses.

I have ported MY Battle System Hack to 3.5 - which, unlike this hack, has no fool holes. The only things that needs to be done is moving code modifications into plugins (which is a matter of 5 minutes, since the code is already in its place and 100% working). Anybody who has the 3.0.7 version - PM me for updates, anybody who does not - PM me for info.

I have ported MY Battle System Hack to 3.5 - which, unlike this hack, has no fool holes. The only things that needs to be done is moving code modifications into plugins (which is a matter of 5 minutes, since the code is already in its place and 100% working). Anybody who has the 3.0.7 version - PM me for updates, anybody who does not - PM me for info.

That's interesting. In a PM he quoted me a price of 49.99 and wasn't able to produce a running version. All he had to show was screen shots that were MindTrix's. Without a demo I'm not sending anyone 50 bucks. :ermm:

I am now using Psionic Vision's mod and it works great on my site. It's very different from the old one, way more options and configurations, definitely worth the money IMO.

vision scripts has a commercial version and MOD'd for 3.5.x which also is supposed to work with 3.6.x as well.....
get at him for details..... but it is something like 20 or 30$ to get the mod....
if you have a rap site its worth it since everyone else is too lazy to attemt to make a new version and get a hack of the month on it....im sure if they released a new version it would be downloaded about 10 thousand times...lol..just a hit to get someone to make a new one... ;)

here's what i'm planning:
i select a forum as battle"forum"
all new threads will be a battle

user a starts a thread
the form is the same just one field is new=> opponent
so i write the name of the opponent ( including the auto-completion? of the name like in the pm's

then i write my part and send it.

now the thread will be created but is closed.
automaticaly a poll is created with 2 options(user a is better/user b is better)
the opponent gets a pm with the link to the challenge and option =>accept/refuse

if he accept the thread will be opened and he can write his part

when this happend the people can vote.
after xxx votes the thread will be closed and the winner get 10 points/user gets -10 points

this is my plan

what i have up until now:

create thread, a opponent field in a special forum,creating the poll, sending the pm

the rest is not finished yet
would be great if we could finish that together

Maybe you could also include an option where the first person who "accepts challenge" could battle..That way if you don't have anyone to "call out" you could just battle a random person...
(Might want to have some feature to delete opponent or battle as well in case someone accepts but never shows or posts.)

don't know how hard this stuff is, just trying to be helpful...i'll post more ideas if i think of them if you dont mind as i am interested in this one...

I know this is out of the blue, but my company has just acquired the rights to the battle script hack by psionic vision.

Using input from members of the site the code is live on, we plan to add more features to it and release it to all current owners first.

I commend the guys who picked up the slack with hacks of their own, but we just couldn't wait, and figured acquiring and building on one of the best ones around would be the best choice.

Btw, for this mod, is this the same voting system as the 3.0 version or is it going to be a different voting system? i.e explained votes, then the mods/admins can put the winner and loser into the correct boxes, and the system will automatically control the rest (battle records on profile, battles statistics and all of the battles the person win/lose on there actual profile). I would say when creating a battle you should have it automated similar to that when you challenge someone for a battle in the arcade mods. It sends a message, they have a yes or no option, if yes it's posted. If not, it's not and the challenger has a message sent back stating that the user doesn't agree to a battle. That's why I sent you a pm, I've been trying to work on just that part of the hack first.

for example, Let's say the person being challenged accepts...they would respond and the post would have a timer set (which would be set by the person challenging) which would automatically post the reply.

well i have almost conqured this for vb 3.8...i have most of the install code fixed up for vb 3.8 i have the sql file adjusted to vb 3.8
