Hi All.

I have a section that new members can only post in called introduction section. When a new member posts a introduction in there they then get permission to see the rest of the forums.

Now to save me time posting a new welcome message all the time for every new post made, can someone design or is there a hack that will enable me to reply to a post that made in this section automatic.

So...........

A new member posts a new welcome post
I need s hack that will respond to that as a post from me saying "Welcome etc, etc"
But it should only do this once per new post in this choosen section.

Any takers or ideas on how I can do this.

You could do the first part with the usergroups and there permissions.

Lets say you have Usergroup1, Usergroup2 , and Usergroup3. Usergroup1 being email not verified, and once they do verify there email, it sets them into usergroup2. Set the permissions in usergroup2 to only beable to post in the introdutions forum. Then use the promotions system. Once the member makes 1 post, it will then set him to usergroup3 which can view all the forums.

That would be one way of doing that without hacking your files. As for the auto respond, someone would have to creat that.

I have already done the permissions part of it, I need the Welcome post to be done.

yes I need the same thing. I have the automatic welcome pm, so I can't see this being so far from that.
