integrateing existing user database

I am sure this gets asked alot, but for wome reason i cant find any thing like it when i search.

Basically i currently have a passworded area on my site. can i integrate vBulletin into the passworded section without the users having to create a new username and password.

secondly does vBulletin give you the ability to completely hide posts from google /other search engines?

You would have to manually import the users or code an import script, unless these are users from another forum system like phpBB, IPB...

Yes, vBulletin allows you to set permissions per forum so you can lock out whoever doesn't have enough priviledges.

no they are not from another forum system.

the site is currently not up. since there are only a handful of test users, would it be easier to use the vBulletin db to control accsess to the pasworded site?
