vBindex or vBadvanced CPMS?

I'm looking to use either vBindex or vBadvanced CPMS but I only want some of the features - latest threads, search box, What's Going On box and perhaps a poll. Is it possible to install either of these two hacks and only use certain features? If so, which hack is easiest to adapt/maintain?

vBadvanced has a section in the admin where you can select what you want active and where you want it.
