Hello;
I have a Super Moderator at my site.
I dont want s-mods to be able to delete posts.
To do that, I went into the Admincp\Usergroups\supermoderator
and changed the "Can Moderate All Forums (is Super Moderator)" to NO.
This removed alot of abilities including editing posts, so..
Then I went into the Forums manager and made this user the Moderator of each Catagory with the can delete set to NO. This fixed that problem.
but, because of the First thing I did, the user does not see the modcp Link anymore.
Is there a way to give that back to him? without saying yes to the "Can Moderate All Forums (is Super Moderator)"
Thanks for any help

A super moderator is a admin without admincp access.
the best thing to do is assign them as a mod to every forum.

Thank you for the reply Zachery
I know what the supermod is.
Thats why I want to limit the user a little and remove the ability to delete posts.
the only way I found to do that was to say NO to this
"Can Moderate All Forums (is Super Moderator)"
but...
I still want the user to be able to make announcements, and do other things in the modcp. So, I need the user to have that link.
any ideas on how to give the usergroup access to the modcp without giving them everything?

Nope, this wont work, with the version, I have
3.0 Gold :ermm:
I think I'll have to upgrade over the weekend.
and see what happens.
Unless someone else has an idea

Did you check if global.php contains the lines from my instructions?
If so it should work too.

thanks for the reply KirbyDE
I did not get that far because the includes\functions.php is missing some of the lines you said to find.
I assume this is something new in 3.0.1 that I dont have in 3.0.0
I'll look into it after I upgrade though ;)
Thanks again ;)
