Hi, I used to make my backups/restore with this wonderfull hack. You could backup or restore your whole database, despite the size of it and it allways worked fine.
I think this hack was probably the most interesting one but what a deception to see that it´s not compatible anymore with VB3.
I updated my forums and run vb3 now but cannot make the backups like I used to. In the thread of the hack, it looks like many, many people are requestiing the modification too.
Would a nice hacker help us?
Here is the .rar with all the files for VB2.
Thanks in advance.

I cannot believe nobody can make it...
I´m sure it would take 2 minutes for a real hacker to do it..
It was so usefull for vb2, hundreds of people answered the thread. How come nobody wants to spend five minutes to update it?

How come nobody wants to spend five minutes to update it?Its not that we cannot make it, I am sure any good coder could, but there is no real reason to have a standard database restore function built into vB, or a hack really, this function is better suited to an external program (which ive seen a few around that do a decent job on big databases) or directly though the shell :)

If the database is dead, and you cant login to the admincp to use the hack, what good is it? :)

There is already a backup application in the vB ACP under Import and Mateincese.

This one bugs a lot and if you want to restore the database, you only need to reinstall a new vb and put the database on it. It takes 2 minutes and works with very large DB...
By the way, excellent your VB IRC :)

IMO it would still be MUCH simpiler to use phpmyadmin or direct SSH access...

mysql -uuser -p database < backup.sql via SSH seems to be the easiest way to restore a database dump.

Through php myadmin, what would be the correct way to backup sql?
Which box do I have to tick?

For backing up, use vb's function or SSH :)
