Hey,

I'm looking for someone who will help out with an upcoming Harry Potter board, who knows about the books, is willing to, and knows how to do things such as,

- Sorting Hack
This is a questionaire assembled into sortinghat.php, where a user is given several questions, and has four choices for all of them. If you're a harry potter fanatic then you'd know its for the four houses, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin, and Ravenclaw. The users are forwarded to another page stating their house.

- Addon to Points Hack
I don't know much about Shrina's point hack, but I want points to be sorted into groups. Such as Hufflepuff has 50 points in total, it is displayed somewhere in the admincp, and can be shown to members too in a new .php page. If you don't understand ask me to explain further.

- Password Addon
Another thing I've decided (after many inconclusive thoughts) is to have each house unavaliable to be seen by others, but to have each house forum password protected. If it's possible, for a PM to be sent to new users, and distribute the forum password. There will be four passwords in total, depending what house they're in. If the password changes for the forum, the members should be somehow notified, any ideas?

This is why I'm looking for someone who is interested in the book, and would want to do something like this. And would be determined to complete the hacks, and if new ideas come up, then more ;). It'd be great personalized for the forum only. To be honest, I don't consider myself good at hacking because I can only edit files and do what a file tells me how to install it. I really don't have any .PHP knowledge, that's why I need your help.

If you're willingly to, thankyou.

Have you thought about going with VB3? It has a password feature built in. Better than that though (since these things can get out), is to use the usergroup feature in vb2 or vb3 but the latter lets you assign multiple usergroups which can come in handy with hacks you may want to add on later.

In regards to the points hack... it shouldn't be hard at all. A simply query on the custom profile field and have the totals displayed by usergroup. Maybe ill add that. Depends.

Nah, not really. I just don't like Version 3.0 much, perhaps it is an option. What usergroup feature? It's late or something, sorry for being incomprehensive at the moment.

It'd be great if you did, but, only if you're not busy and feel like it of course. Thanks for your reply.

Sorry, it is late, and I getting ready to go out for the night. I was refering to usergroup masks.

If you do it with VB2, you would have the four houses but lets say you need to add something that works via usergroups and you only want x people in a certain house to have access to it - then you would need to add a usergroup for each possibility. (Its how we had our store designed originally and yeah it got to be difficult) vb3 gets around that quite nicely.

Hey Reeve of Shinra, thanks for your support so far. Displaying four of the usergroups points on a new page would be great, but since I don't know much about creating hacks, I wouldn't know how to do it. If you have time, release the addon.

Also, there's going to be a forbidden forum, once you've entered a certain amount of points would be deducted from the user, but this would only happen if you're in 4 usergroups, and not a moderator. And it would only happen when you enter, and not if you enter a thread. Once you go back to the main page or another forum, if you enter the forbidden forum again points will be deducted again.

This might be too much, but, yeah. If anyone can, can you help?
