Automatic controlled forums

Hi there,

I was wondering if it is possible to make a forum or subforum automatically close and open at a certain time or at a certain number of posts.

For example, I have a site that people come into and request for graphics, I don't want the requests to get out of control. Lets say I want that particular part of the forum to close or lock itself, after it passes 7 posts/requests and then automatically reopen/unlock again, once the number of posts goes below 7.

Is that possible to do? has this feature ever been released? cause I could not find it.

I've made a hack which automatically opens/closes a forum at a specific time, but this hasn't gone public yet IIRC.

there is a hack regarding this feature, just take a look at the search engine in the forum related to vB3 ...

could you possibly help me? I searched and found a few hacks, but they did not do exactly what I wanted, one of them that was close was that it closed a thread instead of the whole category/forum. :(

For a specific forum is there a way that it can be automatically locked after the first post?
