We've only been with vB for a couple weeks. While we haven't edited vB things themselves much, we have made a few small template changes here and there and installed a couple hacks. The design/site was created by me; the icons (all the bird ones next to forums as well as the new thread ones and such) were created by one of our moderators for the board. It's really a team effort, and we're always looking for ways to improve.

Thus, feedback would be appreciated. :)

Your icons are cute. Reminds me of my cockateil which died a couple of years ago :( Your community has a nice "community" feel to it hehe ;). The only visual thing I don't like is that category background gradient

I agree with Dean - rid of the grey category background image. It doesn't match your style at all. If you still want a gradient, use something that is purple or at least matches it. :)

and yeah, the smilies are cool. Interesting and original forum concept too. ^_^

Thanks for the suggestions, you two. What do you think would look good instead of that gradient?

A gradient color more suited to your scheme - purple perhaps, or a color that matches with purple. The grey is just out of place.

Im no bird owner etc but nice site :) I like it and had a wee snoop about, then I found some gallery off site showing all these kool quals etc :) some very kool birds dude :)

I used to own a cockatiel called cheeky, he was a bad tempered old sourpuss but he showed love under there... well i mean he would nest in your hair or drink the tea lol

again kool site :)

Hehe -- the gallery is only six pictures away from 2,000 pictures so we're all really looking forward to hitting that. Big achievement for us. :)

I've changed the gradient to a solid color with a top and bottom border...better?

Very cute! I love the New Posts & No New Posts icons with the parakeet (looks like my parakeet) and the cockatiel (mine just died at the age of 11 a few months ago... :(). The only thing that I'd recommend is to put solid lines instead of dashed around the 'Latest Announcement' and below the navigation at the top of the forum.
