no more support for statistic version 2
In the next days we will release a new statistic Version (vB Statistic 3).
For this reason I give from today on, no more support for the Statistic Version 2
This version is bigger, faster and we want to publish the statistic in two languages. (german and english).
In order to use the new Statistic Version, the old version must be unfortunately removed.

Statistic Version 3 have more as 7000 Lines of code and possibly, one of the largest Hacks that was ever written for vBulletin.

The installation is very, very simply, been made by an installscript and does not need more than 30 seconds. All attitudes and changes take maximally 5 minutes.

Statistic Version 2
The board statistics 2,0 indicates hundreds of perfectly redundant and uninteresting datas over the current board.
The statistic show the Space Used by Attachments, the winner of the golden pineapple up to search robots, browser and operating system of your users etc.
The board statistics 2,0 is the advancement of the version 1, however 70 % of the code one rewrote and one modified.
All Templates are "wohlformuliert (validate) " written and correspond now to 100% the XHTML 1,0 standard.

What knows the statistics?
The statistics consists of 2 parts.
On the one some user datas will logged:
Sidecalls
Number of the visitors
Browser and operating system of the visitors
Countries from those the visitors come (Now all 254 images for the flags, in the old version are present were missing there the one or other flag)
Spiders (detect 92 different)
Referer and the Top level domain
The other part consists of the announcement and evaluating well-known data and/or sizes among other things:
Announcement of the TopPoster
User Activity
Announcements of the longest, most popular topics, forums etc..
Announcement of the last inquiries,
Stickys, search words many extended announcements when desired in PopUps.
and much other more.
Installation
The installation is simply and been made by one installationscript. (with approx. 3200 lines code)
36 new templates 8 new data base tables is installed and more then 300 datbase inserts made in the new tables.
All in all the installation takes maximally 5 - 10 minutes.
The statistics is managable over the Admincp.
The Templates and php code are developed in a "pcfreak moderate building block" principle. It should not difficulty to write appropriate extensions for the statistics.

Ok. Now the we come to the hack.
Download Zipfile, unpack and follow the installation instructions.
Delete all old data base tables for those, which installed the old statistics, and the old templates, before you install the new version.
So, that was all information.

Hmm ... the attachments are stored on vB.org, so Traffic shouldn't be your problem ;)
Btw: Using JPEG for screenshots normally isn't a good idea at all.

You might consider using single quotes for strings that don't contain variables, saves processing time as PHP doesn't have to check for variables then.
Using german variable names is somewhat ridicolous and makes it difficult to read the code, although I am a german native speaker ;)

But the hack or the templates are "open source".
Perhaps someone convert the templates to better english. No problem make a installation script only for installing the templates.

Ok I had the old Stats 1.0 hack. Removed it completly. Install the new Stats 2.0 hack as writing. So when I go to the statistik.php file, I get this database error

Because the table "stats" is a orginal table.
I have check the querie in the statistik.php. Cant found an error there.
I think there is a Problem with the TABLE_PREFIX

I need the drop tables, because i have relaese this hack in two different languages. Some of the tables have different inserts e.g the statistik_laender table.
There are two different installation routines (and i must check both)

Updated. :p. Well, it was because of that. He did not have the stats table. O_o. But anyway, this is pretty neat hack! Wish I had a public forum to add this to. :D. Keep up the good work! :D
Well, I don't know wether anyone of you uses table_prefixes. But on my board I use them and because of that, the installation script was giving errors. After fixing I had the problem ith all other scripts.

Well I am and when I run that query in mysql I still get the same error. So it is something in the query because I check all the pm tables to make sure there wasn't any bad with them.

I got the same problem. For now I just commented it out and the rest of the hack seems to work ok.
Maybe it has to do with the version of mysql which is running. I also tried to run in in phpmyadmin and had a problem.

I've tried a couple of times to install but recieve this error. I had version 1 working but deleted it to install V.2. Not for sure what i've done wrong

I update the zipfile, because there are few problems with some TABLE_PREFIX in the installation file.
Download the new one and install the hack again, please.
I think (hope) that you don´t get errors again. (all the other members, witch get errors, too. Use the new zipfile in my first posting in this thread, please)

In the install text i have explain this
For the Spiderstatistic i release the images later. The paths for it are already in the database.
(I had no time to look for 92 little pictures for it)

Sorry, but i dont understand this mysql error. Table "portal.statistik_einstellungen"
because the insert go to the table statistik_einstellungen.
When you dont need TABLE_PREFIX for your board!
Open the file statistikadmin.php and delete all " . TABLE_PREFIX . " atributes for the arrey statistik_einstellungen.

You cant upgrade the new version with the old version. To many changed was made.
But installing the new version is very easy. Del all old templates. Del the tables for the old staistic in your database. And then install the new one.

but as you specified when i deleted those 6 table entire forums crashed down ;)
I fixed it, installing the new version. but it again had table prefix problems. :(
i had to manually run the queries using phpmyadmin finished everything till here ->

But it saved the config. the error msg is there because the phrasegroup doesn't exist. Allthough it gives a error message, your changes are saved ;)

If you take a look at the statistic.php file you find:
print_stop_message("statistik_zurueck_gesetzt");
and 4 lines after
print_stop_message("statistik_cp_gespeichert");
By this you can understand that we have to put both phrases in Control Panel Stop Message, to avoid errors.

I just installed this on my production board. The installation went flawlessly. Your installation script is excellent and appreciated. It made installation not only easy but fast. I have been 'playing' with it for a bit now and so far as I can tell everything works as it should.

Question: I have Google's AdSense on my forums. I would like to be able to distinguish between the AdSense bot visits and the 'standard' Google indexing bot visits, as I can in online.php, in the 'statistik.php?do=spider' statistics page.

In statistic_polls_bit I also found this:

It does not give a user ID. Clicking the link takes you to a message saying the user is not registered.
What it is calling is: http :// site . com/Forums/member.php?u=
As you can see there is no user ID appended to the link.

Great hack .. having a couple of small problems though ..
In the main page, the Visitors total is 19 since I installed the hack (7/7), but looking at the board we have 27 online at the moment ..
In countries, we only seem to have 15 visitors (from England), but I know there have been a lot more from other countries, France and India to name a couple, and in referrers we only seem to have 3 visitors ..
Any ideas?

the country visitors are based on the domain name in their referer - so this is not really that accurate :( much more heavey work on the server to reverse DNS the names to get IP's then parse thelookup to find a country name, then parse that against the databse table of country names ?

Yep, this is a bug.
I will fix them in a new zipfile soon.
To fix this now, search in the template statistic_popular_forum_bit
$popularforum_id
replace it with
$popularforum_forumid

While doing that I noticed the variable $popularforum_titel which is a misspelling. It should be $popularforum_title. I won't change it because I don't know where all it's used.
Oh, and all those references to "autor" on the last post on the last page should be "author". Not messing with ya just trying to help. :)

yea, I know, i just fixed it.... I copied the header from forumhome into Statistiks_header and it worked (while editing the title to say Stats and adding statistik_menue to the bottom)

In the do=referer Referrer Summary at the bottom of the page, I understand:
"1427 Visitors visited The Elsmar Cove directly"
and
"1215 Visitors came over a Hyperlink (Referer) to us"
Can anyone better explain to me what these are:

Hmmm, the statistik main page works, except from the visitors count since the stat started.
All stays 0, also on the other statistik pages, all values stay zero, as if they don't get counted?

Okay I figured out all these problems.. PC Freak.. First of all, great program.. I know its hard translating. It took me a while, but you are missing ALOT of " TABLE_PREFIX" where there should be. Another thing is the "Thread of Thread" change you mentioned earlier.
Finally, the last error I received is because in your install_Statistik_English.php file. You put a space where there shouldn't be this totally freaked MySql out...
You had " statistik_laender VALUES Should be "statistik_laender VALUES
If you make these changes, your install will be perfect!! I have one other question though.. The browser stuff didn't refresh information. Everything is 0% is this normal for a while?

Something else must be happening for some of you because several days ago I did the install on my Mac test board and then on my BSD production board without one single problem in install on either.
*Most* of the statistics appear to be appropriate/correct. I'm sure the Spiders page isn't correct and there are a couple others I question, but it's an excellent 'hack'.

All I did was run the install (on 2 platforms) and it works fine (on both). All I did was follow the directions in the zip file.
Have you tried dropping the database fields it creates, deleting the templates it creates and then doing an install from scratch?

I would, but instead of putting the table prefixes I put the prefix in manually, so im afraid it would not work with your database.
In the install file, make sure that EVERY REFERENCE TO A TABLE has the table prefix tag on it. I found that many did not so half the time it was looking for Prefix_statistik_table and the other half of the time it was looking for statistik_table. Of course you have to have one or the other. Plus the reference I made above where MySql 4.X does not like that space on the install page.

Installed nice on my test forum but if I try to update the settings in the AdminCP, I click Update, it gives me an error message:
Can not find phrase "statistik_cp_gespeichert"
I assumed that KirbyDE's post was to make this for admin access only but as there are multiple reoccurances of the "require_once('./global.php');", which one should the change be made after or should it be all of them? (BTW KirbyDE, you have a typo, there should be a "." in front of the "/global.php" :) )

Great hack :)
Installed flawless on our board.
Had some minor problems, but most of them were adressed in this thread.
The phrases go to the "Control Panel Stop Message" as mentioned earlier in this thread.
I see one little problem though. The avatar and profile picture stats are not updating. Anyone else have that problem?
And a suggestion for a future release: please put all text in phrases. That way translation is easy for all languases. I translated manualy to Dutch, but that's to bad for our foreign visitors ;)

I'm using now the german version... but with both versions I have 2 small problems with the style...
Problem 1)
I'm using 1024x768 and have still a scrollbar to left an right... it seems that the tables are too big :/
Problem 2)
In Polls / Stickys / Searchwords is a color-bug in the table behind the statistics...

Nobody here who is disturbed through these scrollbars and wrong table widths and these color-bug???
I've found out that it is OK if I remove the code for the popups in the navbar, but I can't do that because then the Search and the Quick Links aren't working...

Problem 1 is the scrollbar to the left and right side... I'm using 1024*768 as resolution and they shouldn't be there then because this is the standard resolution...

I have reset the statistics on my forum for the most users online but it doesnt reset them, is this anythingto do with this hack?
Also it says

'Most users ever online' is in the vB database - You have to reset it there. I don't remember how, off hand, but I've seen it discussed. It has nothing to do with this 'hack'.

Sorry - I don't get by here that often. Ummm, I looked and in your error it has a table prefix of "bbs." Your script is calling tables with that prefix.
As for your tables list, it has the correct 8 tables installed by this 'hack'.
I can't remember the details - I'm jut an old guy keeping my forum online - I'm not php and mysql savvy - but that is the issue, or so it appears. I know this issue came up with some other folks and I thought it came up in this thread earlier.
As I remember there's a 'switch' or something for those installing with and without the table prefix.
If you look at the post I made just below this one there is an attachment which shows the tables on the far left. Note: none have the bbs. prefix.

Did you edit the admincp file? I can't remember which frame it is in, but you have to put the code in that file for it to list in the adminCP.

I have a little problem with the script.
I have Vb 3.0.3 installing was no problem i encountered one small problem with the prhases but that is solved by reading this thread.
I have done everything in the readme file but the statistic will not show, but http://forum.ffdungeon.info/statistik.php is working well. I have made the change to phpinclude_start but it still not work, all edits are checked but i can't get it to work.
Has anyone managed to cure the width issue yet? I use a fixed width site and this hack breaks the layout :(
Even on a full screen style, this hack throws up scrollbars.
Any clues?

Installed with alle mentioned problems and more.. but sure worth the trouble.
However I have a few problems with browser/os, country's and referer/domains they all do display correctly but all stay empty, it seems the database doesnt get any input about these.
Does anyone have a clue where to start looking whats wrong?

I saw this thread here in at vBulletin.com yesterday night and found a lot of questions, problems and db errors, so I decided today to do a complete rework of this hack from my installed german version to a new english Version.
I worked now 8 hours on this hack and hope that most of the bugs are fixed ;)
All changes from this forum and also from the german one are implemented in my new version.
So I also will give further support for this hack if using my new files for install.
Please read the installation instruction to see what is changed and work carefully through it to get this hack work.

the name of the tableprefix is defined in the file config.php with $tableprefix, so the install script only reads the prefix name from there and installs your tables like that name.
After additional 6 hours with installing this hack in a new Testboard I found again several bad translations and also again some german words ;)
Also 2 db queries has wrong syntax for prefixed tables again !
If you found misspelling or bugs please let me know that I can fix the download.
for a updated zip file please look some posts later ;)

You are right ! There was again a table prefix missing in the install script "install_statistik_english.php"
Search for:
INSERT INTO statistik_einstellungen VALUES (0, 900, '', 10, 10, 10, 5, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10)
and replace it with:

Looking at the error message, it might be because the host has put an - in the database name. (In truth I have no idea though as I know very little about SQL)

MySQL on my test home server is the latest, and on my site server it's 4.0.16.
It still said the same after I altered the part you said to, but I removed the "FROM $dbname" bit from the query and now it works and gives the size for the PM table.
Is that part un-needed or will I run into problems having removed it at some point?

This is not a problem because we are still in this database. The MySQL syntax mentioned to give the database with this command but if we are not outside this db it's not a problem ;)
I will fixed this also in the next release !

and replaced whit this.

I took a few hours and worked through all the MySQL errors and it seems to work except for Browser & Operating System Stats. See my attachment. I know not EVERYONE is using "Other" for a browser. Did I miss something on the install?

Browsers and OS are identified from the file /includes/functions_statistik.php so please check if this file is in that directory.
In that file the the Browsers are identified by getenv("HTTP_USER_AGENT") and a listing with the Browsernames.
Is only Browsertyp and OS version not identified by the statistics ?

open file functions_statistik.php from Directory /includes and find:
$agent = getenv("HTTP_USER_AGENT");
replace it with this syntax:
$agent = $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'];
for the $_SERVER Syntax you must have at least php 4.1.0 installed on your server

The first solution didn't work after waiting an hour. I'm trying your second $_SERVER fix now. I'm running MYSQL 4.0.18 and PHP 4.3.6 so hopefully it will work. I hope it's not a problem that I run my own local Windows 2003 servers on a dedicated T-3 line. You wouldn't believe how many things (VB related) are designed around Apache. Yuck!

On both version 1 and this version some of the most popular user countries don't show for me. I have remote countries like the Seychelles listed but not the UK/US.

On both version 1 and this version some of the most popular user countries don't show for me. I have remote countries like the Seychelles listed but not the UK/US.
... The English templates still need a lot of work, and it's not just the language. The notation isn't consistant. For example some statistic fields have a : after them and others do not.
Hmm, UK and US are listed in the database table "statistik_laender" as unique entry, so the statistic should also identify all visitors from this countries.
Countries are identified by the following lines in function_statistik.php
$ip = $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'];
$fullhost = gethostbyaddr($ip);
and the Browserlanguage in the same file by:$sprache = $_SERVER['HTTP_ACCEPT_LANGUAGE'];
If your server can't handle this request, $_server needs PHP < 4.1.0, you should upgrade php or use older syntax for php > 4.0.1
btw. you are using the old template STATISTICS which has more missed translations than my new one...
and sorry for that, we are germans which are not english professionals ;)
but we are understanding english as well :D
For the notation I will update missing ":" in the next update.

Oh I don't expect you Germans to translate it to English at all. You've done admirably to even have a remote English version. I was just surprised with such a popular hack, that there hasn't been more member support to get it fully translated. Fortunately I still remember some German.

Okay, I think I found the problem !
The countrynames in table "statistik_laender" are not identical with the Names given in file "functions_statistik.php"
So the query $DB_site->query("

can't work while trying to compare "Name_Land" with "$browser_sprache"....
Zelda-King, if you can do me favour, please replace the following line in file functions_statistik.php:
elseif(ereg("us", $sprache))$browser_sprache="UnitedStates";
with:
elseif(ereg("us", $sprache))$browser_sprache="United States";
and try if it works. The problem only occur on countries with 2 separated words like United States, United Kingdom etc.
Countries like Germany, Venezuela etc. are working
So I have to fix the complete 2 listings in functions_statistik.php for Browser language and countries by host :tired:

I don't quite follow... well I understand the problem but there is no 'file' called statistik_laender so do you mean I should change the database table statistik_laender or alter the functions_statistik.php? I've changed the reference to the United States in functions_statistik.php. No show of America yet... I suppose I have to wait until some more Americans show up again.

Okay, here we go ...
attached you will find the new file functions_statistik.php which must be copied to /include Directory and overwriting the old one.
In this file all entries are fixed to be identified from statistics Hack as correct Browser language and origin country of visitor.

I realise you've been doing some real drudgery work on this but I'd better mention the new file has Bosnia andH erzegovina where it should have Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Well I still have a problem with certain countries showing on Visitor Countries... though the browser ones work fine, as I posted before. Weird. I know they use the same table.
Update: Ah.. United States has finally decided to show up. It doesn't seem to log everyone from there but it does initially work. Still nothing from the UK yet. :/

Nice update. The templates STATISTIC, statistik_polls and statistic_last_x_days lack my latest updates. They're all on this page. I'm not bothered because I fixed mine myself but if you update the templates again at some point could you please use those fixes? :D
Edit: Hmm, someone's registering under two tables. United States AND Unknown. The hits and percentage was going up at the same rate until another American came online.

I just noticed the Europe table in statistik_laender is 'Europ' (with no 'e' on the end), so the 'Europe' references in functions_statistik.php won't work surely. Oh.. and the Ascension flag is missing from the flaggen folder.

I integrated the better english in my new zip File.
I checked the table inserts for "statistik_laender" and there is Europe with "e" in.
Also my test db has the Europe with "e" inside, so that must be a transfering or inserting error on your server.
We have both a wrong thinking about a translation in poll template. It's not "Ends" as category, it's Duration. This field doesn't show the days remaining, it shows only the configured duration of the poll ;)
What about the installation and Script executing problems ?
Does it work for all in the meanwhile ?

This is an awsome hack. I installed it with only one problem: I have several users that use an apostrophe in there username. This causes sql errors. Do you know of away around this?

EDIT ADD: I did a few translations a bit back. I'm not going through the update until you folks finish because the stats are relative to me. That is, some of the language translations aren't important to me and the statistics it gives me are sufficient - Like 10 times what I had before and are presented well.
That said, I appreciate the fine tuning you folks are doing on this. I had a different program back in the vB 2.x days and really loved this when I saw it - this one is exceptional. I'm not a php programmer so it's all beyond me or I'l pitch in on that stuff.

What about the installation and Script executing problems ?
Does it work for all in the meanwhile ?I've had no trouble with that, and I think it's good the templates are done first. It means we who've installed the hack can make template updates easier, plus if we want to add into every style it's easy to just change the default style to any otehr mother style then just rerun the templates bit. (It doesn't inject into all styles. Just the default one, but I like that because I have a Mother - Child system anyway.)

If you install the new files and Templates you get ride of the "(days)" in the duration row of the polls ;)
But you are right to wait until our fine tuning is done. It's only neccesary to download the new files for that people which have problem to get the scripts run.

You know, a final version will never be reached because of updates, additions and so on ;)
But I think we reached now a status that the hack must work on all installations without database errors and script errors, especially the apostrophe problem mentioned by YamaMotoYama. I have to check this but have no free time right now.
So I suggest for all people which have problems before with the hack to install it on your site and to help us with the bugfixing if still errors occur. Normally the installation and also the scripts must run fine now, but if nobody is testing it and waiting for a final version, we will get no final :D

There have not been any changes to the database, correct? To 'upgrade' all we have to do is change the templates and the main php file, correct? Or should we just run the install script?

The install script still has problems in it but yes, you would just re-run the install script. Attached is my "fixed" install script, but it has been modified to put vb3_ before all the database commands as the prefix. If you use it, change vb3_ globally in the file to whatever you use as a database prefix first.

You are right !
If you include a variable from config.php like the table prefix you should also include this file in your installation script:
find in file install_statistik_english.php:
require_once('./global.php');
require_once('./includes/adminfunctions_template.php');
replace it with:
require_once('./global.php');
require_once('./includes/config.php');
require_once('./includes/adminfunctions_template.php');
and try to install again ;)
Sorry for that, my test installation has no table prefix so I'm not able to found out that we still have a problem there.

Ooooh, that's crazy because the german version of this hack has all flags in the database, but german countrynames :devious:
I will try a export from my german database table and try to replace the flags in the english version....

I took out the prefix from Wentials, and it worked fine.
1 problem though. I installed this on another site before the latest English Translation install script was posted. How can I uninstall this hack on that server, so I can reinstall w/ the new English translation?

This was from a translation fix by Zelda-King
apokphp for instance search in the file install_statistic_english.php for:
Show $postername1's
and replace that by Show $postername1\'s
this must be done for 5 instances with the name
$postername1
$postername2
$postername3
$postername4
$postername5
Just change your search to this names and change on each line the 's to \'s

I'm working at the moment at the flag problem and find out that there are 3 countries mixed in the table. It's ID97 Indonesia, ID98 Ireland, ID99 Israel and ID100 Isle of Man. I will fix that also in the next release...

I have used Wentials, and removed the prefix. It works fine.
But as stated previously, I have a problem. I have installed this on 2 servers. One just now, using the latest English translation...works great.
The PROBLEM, is that I installed this a few weeks ago on a different server using the old English translation, which is needing a lot of help with proper translation. How can I uninstall it so I can reinstall w/ the updated install script?

When you click Top 10 posters, it displays their homepage url. When you click on the homepage url, it gives you the "page not found" error.

For the deinstallation there is no deinstall script right now, so you have to drop all database tables with statistik_* and also delete all templates with statistic_* and the main template STATISTC.
I requested a deinstallation script from PcFreak (the maker of this hack) a few days ago in the german vbulletin forum but get no answer right now...

I made a list of all the countries that have the 'noflag' problem. It's easy to spot them in install_english.php by doing a text search for noflag.gif. :D

here is the dump of the fixed country table for phpmyadmin.
If you have phpmyadmin installed on your server, just open your database and click on SQL in top and then open the file countryfix_table.txt with your favorite editor, press CTRL + A to mark all and afterwards CTRL +C to copy all.
Go to your phpmyadmin window and press CTRL +V to paste all the data in the SQL field, now press OK to process the new entries.
hope this is fine now, but I have to check also each entry step by step with image name and name of country in compare with functions_statistik.php to be sure all entries are correct.
As Zelda mentioned the El Salvador flag has also a wrong image name in database....
