different between 2.3.5 and 3.0.1

I have a vb version 2.3.5 , and I want to know what is the different between this version and 3.0.1 , I mean which one is better .

and I found a syles ending with .xml m but in my vb ending with .style , please explain this to me and what you advice me to do ( to replace 2.3.5 with 3.0.1 ) or to keep it !!

The differences would take an age and a half to list, vB3 is a much better idea to be running with IMO
