One more question that I couldnt find the answer to anywhere is it possible to have a moderator group that can move images or edit comments without them having full access to the control panel or is this a no.

Ask over 4images website and see if they have or going to implement the feature.
In 4-images, I see that you can add groups and set permission. You may try and see if it might help anything. I myself having no answer for your question.

I have a quick question:
Is it possible to restrict users from viewing the images unless they have XXX posts (i'm assuming using user groups and promotions).
Sorry if it's been asked before but it's 3 AM here and I don't really have time to read every post ;)

not tested before, but I think you can do that. try it out.
- Says you have a group called "advance members", Members are promoted to this group after xxx posts (You should be able to do this in vBulletin - How, check vB manual)
- In 4images, you should setup so that only members (and admin, I assume) can view images, moderated and guest are not able to do so. You should be able to do this in 4images too. (I dont have access to my 4images to check for you)
- In my integration, th configuration part (i think), set vBulletin member group being waiting for moderation group in 4images, and the vB advanced member group being 4images' member group.
good luck

I installed this hack but none of my forum members can logout properly now.
everything else works fine.
any ideas?
they logout but it just keeps them logged in despite the fact that it told them
logout sucessful, when they return they are still logged in.

*** All fixed!
There was a typo in the functions.php
for some unexplainable reason, my edit would always end up as:
$name = COOKIE_PREFIX . $name;if ($name != 'sessionhash')
{
$name = COOKIE_PREFIX . $name;
}
I use DzSoft PHP Editor and I think the search /paste option is a little
funky I donno.
Anyways having cleared that up fixed my user login issues, I also modded
the who's online call to a "Image gallery" and a permantent link to the
image gallery rather than use the vBB default path link which was kind
of ugly.
Thanks to the maker for this hack, I can now click install :)
I have re-installed over 5 times now, everytime I get the same problem.
logout problem, login again and its as though users never left.
4images 1.7 fresh install, tables in same database, all files check out okay.
is this a known problem?
I'm taking this off unti I can confirm it work properly. with 3.0.3
also I read through the forum here and support is scattered all
over the map. "very confusing"

Is it possible to refresh the user titles? I've added the users in the arrays, but comments that were added before the Update 10/30/2004 aren't affected, the user titles are there for Mods and so on still Guest-Titles
Is it possible to refresh the user titles? I've added the users in the arrays, but comments that were added before the Update 10/30/2004 aren't affected, the user titles are there for Mods and so on still Guest-Titles
I played trick, on each individual log on user. if his group is in admin list, then ADMIN_GROUP_ID is assign to this number. If you are admin, you only can see those who are the same group with you has admin title. If you are not admin, you can only see those in the default group (1 group) has admin title.
Should this title be important? I would just remove the title from comments :)
if you want to have everything behave correctly, I think you should create another field in user table, called album_level, give it default value =2 (everyone being member)< and assign those who should be admin manually.
Maybe I will re-write the hack, and give two options at a later time, when I have time to do it.

Hey, I did everything you said to. I try to login and I get a "This page cannot be displayed" at the url of http://www.rec0n.nauticaltech.com/forums/login.php?
Whats wrong with it?
Alright, I figured out what is wrong.
in 4images/includes/constants.php I had the url defined as "www...." but my website is just "http://". I changed it, but how do I get 4images to recognize the change?
:) upload the file to the right folder.
If you still have the old links, try to refresh or clean cache.

!!!EDIT!!! I had the define url commented out in constants.php. I just uncommented it and hit clear cache, but the Light Box, [Login] button, and Logout links are still www.
Any ideas on why those 3 are still www. links while the rest got the hint? How do I refresh it so it will change the links to http://?

Where did you get that url_app string from? Which file? I know I changed it, but I might have skipped it to take back out the www..

I installed this hack from fresh 4images install and I can login to 4images as a registerd user - and when I go to forums I see I'm logged in as this user. I can also use my forum Admin credentils to login as a registered user in 4images and I also show up as this user when I go to forums. But...when I goto /4images/admin and try to use my Admin credentils to login to the 4images admin console - my userid/password aren't accepted - it goes through the VB forums login message screen, and then returns to the 4images login screen and says "You are either no administrator or not logged in...."
I've searched this thread and no one else seems to have this problem. What am I doing wrong. I'm using the latest VB 3.0.X and 4images 1.7
Ok, I found the problem.
thanks

Check the 4images usergroups if you can. Try making yourself a SuperAdmin or something that is an original VB user group for admin, (VB user groups are assigned numbers, like styles, and that number changes when you make a new group for all the admins, so just use any default user group with the user group ID of 1 or something low)

With a bit of work on the templates 4Images can be rather seamlessly integrated into a vB3 system. A bit of hacking of some of the PHP also allows us to put the last five images in a specific category onto the main page of the website.
www.ten-tenths.com - Front page.
www.ten-tenths.com/gallery - Erm... the gallery.

make that change back to ZERO, and you will be fine.

I have got a problem with the cookies...
I installed this great hack on a 3.0.5 vbulletin and the 1.7.1 4images gallery (in the same database as the vb).
When I'm logged out and I try to login from the gallery, the login procedure worked as normal for the vbulletin and I'm logged in without any problems in the forum, but not in the 4images gallery.
This log in generates 2 new cookies:
1. the correct vbulletin cookie with bblastvisit, bblastactivity, bbuserid, bbpassword
2. an incorrect 4images cookie I think, with: bblastvisit and bbuserid = 0 There might be the problem!?!?
In my vbulletin I have as Cookie domain defined: .mydomain.de and a simple / as cookie-path.
My board is located unter www.mydomain.de/test/forum and my gallery under www.mydomain.de/test/forum/gallery
Anyone there who can help me?
Best Regards
Sebastian

I am going to ask a silly question,
In the install it says you have to have VB installed and working and 4 images installed and working.
Does the installation assume when you install 4 images that you use the same database name as your forum?

Is there a version compatible with 4images 1.7.1 and vB 3.0.6 available? The current mod works with vB 3.0.6 as it seems, but it's not compatible with 4images 1.7.1 because they changed sessions.php completely and I don't know how to fix this myself. So if anyone has a working mod version for 1.7.1 let me know please :-)

I attached files for compatibility with vB 3.0.6 and 4images 1.7.1
- includes/sessions.php and includes/constants.php slightly modified to work with 1.7.1 and vB 3.0.6
- admin/categories.php edited so you can decide where to place a new category (very good if you have many categories)
- fixed some vars in /global.php to make search result page browsing and new images page browsing work with PHP 5.0.x
Installation: Replace the 4 files attached from a standard 1.7.1 4images installation (categories.php does not need to be replaced if you don't want additional functionality)

Make sure you put constants.php and sessions.php in the includes folder and global.php in the gallery root. And make sure these vars in sessions.php are set properly:
define('VBLICENCE_NUMBER', 'XXXXXXXX'); //REPLACE XXXXXXXX with your Licence Number, usually on top of your vB files
define('SESSION_NAME', 's'); // Default of vBulletin is "s".
define('COOKIE_PREFIX', 'bb'); //Default of vBulletin is "bb".
define('COOKIE_TIMEOUT','900'); //Set the same with your vB timeout, in second
define('ALBUM_FOLDER','/album/'); //Your Album Folder WITH trailing slash
I just tried it with the files and it works.

PLEASE HELP!
I have a problem which here often discussed. When I login in my gallery, it say me " Thank you for logging in, Guz2003." and returns me on the main page without a login. When I login in my Forum works all normal, but I go to the gallery and I am not in login. My users have same problem. I can't login in my Admin area as well.
Long time ago I have installed this integration and all worked perfectly. But recently I have moved all site on a new server with new domain, up gallery to 1.7.1 and after that this mod has ceased to work.
I have installed this hack once again and have checked up all files, but it has not helped! I have installed NEW gallery and have applied this hack, but it has not helped as well.
I have read all this theme but the answer have not found. =((
p.s. I have 4images 1.7.1 and vbulletin 3.0.3
No subdomains
Tables in same Database
// User default levels
define('GUEST', 0); // GUEST group or ID
define('USER_AWAITING_DEFAULT', 3);
define('USER_DEFAULT', 2);

Hi guys ..!!! I know my question is same as anybody was asking before ... but let me explain about it again ... !! (I was reading 20 pages here but still don't get the problem)
1/ I have installed successfully 4images 1.7.1 (fresh installation) and the default prefix is 4images_ .. eg. 4images_user (under folder "gallery)
2/ I have my VB forum with default prefix like nothing ' ' .... eg. user, template ( i was checking VB database again and again by phpmyadmin)
so .. it will be nothing change with prefix as the instruction said and i followed all the steps in there .. then finally i got this

DB Error: Bad SQL Query: SELECT sessionhash FROM session WHERE sessionhash = '9aa88ed3d26cb396bdabdc95aefcdfec'

First thing, I know it was looking for table "joe_gallery.template" .. In fact, it does not exist in database joe_gallery... because there is no .template table as 4images default database ...and it should or must looking for table template in VB database ... ( problem )
Second thing, if i change the prefix in session.php like 4images_template .... it's still looking for table "joe_gallery.4images_template" ... as I said above .. there is no template table in 4images database ...

Hi, can this mod be done with one vB 3.0.x Forum and multiple 4images Galleries? Having one login and registration for one forum and two or more Image Galleries:
exspamples:
http://www.mydomain.com/forum
http://www.mydomain.com/4imagesGallery1
http://www.mydomain.com/4imagesGallery2
http://www.mydomain.com/4imagesGallery3 etc
Why do this? To have two or more different Image Galleries with there own Top Images Page as well as there own Themes. Having one Forum board linking different topics to the appropriate image gallery. As of now with only one 4imagesGallery running, all image show up on one "Top Images" page combining the categories. This mod would make it possible to have the option of having each category have it's own Top Images Page.
Example: http://www.mydomain.com/4imagesGallery1 would be images of Apples. http://www.mydomain.com/4imagesGallery2 would be images of Orange's. Right now with only one 4images Gallery, the Top Images page would include both apples and oranges sorting them by ratings,votes, hits and downloads. As apposed to 4imagesGallery1 (apples) and 4imagesGallery2 (oranges) having there own Top Images Page sorting them by rating,votes, hits and downloads.
Any way to do this?
Your help is greatly appreciated,
Jason

The 4images data base installation is a bit unclear to me in the instructions (intergrate-4image-vB3.txt). When installing a fresh copy of the 4images Gallery, During installation, the default "Prefix for tables in database" is "4images_". Should that be blank or keep as is? The datebase of my vBulletin forum has no Prefix.
Also, does this integration work with vBulletin Version 3.0.7?
Thanks
Hi, can this mod be done with one vB 3.0.x Forumandmultiple 4images Galleries? Having one login and registration foroneforum and two or more Image Galleries:
exspamples:
http://www.mydomain.com/forum
http://www.mydomain.com/4imagesGallery1
http://www.mydomain.com/4imagesGallery2
http://www.mydomain.com/4imagesGallery3 etc
Jason
Yes, you can do it. Install seperate copy of 4images, indifferentfolder, with different prefixes for 4images database (forexample4images1_, 4images2_ ...)

Keep as is if you want to install as default. Change 4images_ prefix to whatever you want, if you want to have different copies.

Mine works fine.
I got this error message after install the integrated scripts.
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRINGin/usr/local/etc/httpd/htdocs/forum/includes/functions.php on line 2018
Have no idea what is wrong. try to edit again, dont try to put any special character in there.
or ... I cant recall if someone has the same problem, comingfromsomewhere. try to read over the posts in this thread or make asearchfor functions.php would be the best suggestion I have right now/
btw. your line look strange. here's my code on that line:
$debughtml .= " (<a href=\"" .htmlspecialchars_uni(SCRIPTPATH) . iif(strpos(SCRIPTPATH, '?') ===false, '?', '&') . "tempusage=1\">Template Usage</a>)(<a href=\"" . htmlspecialchars_uni(SCRIPTPATH) .iif(strpos(SCRIPTPATH, '?') === false, '?', '&') ."explain=1\">Explain</a>)<br />\n";

Thanks mtha for clearing that up. Now I have more options. I will give them a try and let you know how it turns out.
I can't imagine this hasnt been raised before; I will do the research on it soon, but I would like to give credit to mtha along with a handful of other here and at the 4homepages.de forum for their mods/help work. Maybe we can come up with a standard way of crediting them, and learn who and how they want to be credited. Just planting the seed for now, will look into it more once my site is up and running.
My thanks to all,

mtha, I installed three 4images Galleries and integrated them with my forum following your mod instructions. In the early stage (I have not uploaded any pictures or made any categories yet). Everything seems to work fine so far except one little thing. When I log out of any of the three galleries or the forum, then go back to Gallery 2 or Gallery 3, the ?Registered users? box on the left is empty. So, I can not log into Gallery 2 or Galley 3. However I can log back into Gallery 1 and the forum. After that I am logged back into all the Galleries. Just a guess, I was looking over the code and wondering if the problem was with the "functions_online.php" edit below:
Original instructions:
<search for>
else
{
$userinfo['activity'] = 'modcp';
}
return $userinfo;
}
</search for>
<add after>
// Album user location
else if (strpos($token, "/album/") !== false)
{
{
$userinfo['activity'] = 'album';
}
return $userinfo;
}
</add after>
======================
* Change the ($token, "/album/") according to your album location defined as ALBUM_FOLDER in sessions.php
Since I have more than one "/album/" I was wondering if something should be added to reference my other two Galleries?
Right now this is how my edit looks:
else if (strpos($token, "/gallery1/") !== false)
How I set it up:
www.mydomain.com/forum
www.mydomain.com/gallery1
www.mydomain.com/gallery2
www.mydomain.com/gallery3
database
forum: no perfix
gallery1_
gallery2_
gallery3_
on server:
folder: forum
folder: gallery1
folder: gallery2
folder: gallery3
Thanks again,
Jason

Dont really understand what you mean by "then go back to Gallery 2orGallery 3, the ?Registered users? box on the left is empty".
Which means you are still logged in? well, what kind of "empty" is it? do you have any screenshot?
Try few things to sort out the problem:
1. Login from forum, go to your albums and see if you are logged on
2. Then come back to forum, logout, go to your albums and see if you are logged out.
3. Login from one album, go to other albums and forum, see if you are logged on (if not, where?)
4. Logout from one album (or forum), go to other albums, see if you are logged out.
The functions_online.php just help on showing where you are, if yougoto "Who's online" page. you can copy the code, and make 3 copiesforyour albums. I dont think it relates to the problem.
or you can try this. install album1, make sure it works perfect with your forum, including login/out.
forget about that album1, do with album2, make it works with your forum,
if all of them work good, they should get along with eachother :D

1. Login from forum, go to your albums and see if you are logged on
*Did that, logged into the forum which logged me into all three Galleries. Works fine.*
2. Then come back to forum, logout, go to your albums and see if you are logged out.
*Did that, Logged out at forum logged me out of all three Galleries*
3. Login from one album, go to other albums and forum, see if you are logged on (if not, where?)
*Did that, Logged into Gallery1 which logged me into all three Galleries and forum*
4. Logout from one album (or forum), go to other albums, see if you are logged out.
*Did that, when logging out of Gallery1, 2 or 3 it says "An error occurred while attempting to log you out. Click here to log out." when I click "Click here to log out" I am then logged out.
When logging out from the forum it works fine without error.
In a nutshell the main problem is there is no login box to put in a Username:
& Password: in Galleries 2 & 3. as seen in attached Pictures.
Thanks,
Jason

The code was changed from 1.7.0 to 1.7.1 so that userid didnt get tothe logout link. That's why you have the error. I will take a look atthat, since I didnt work on 1.7.1. Did you try these:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=609346#post609346
It's strange that you didnt see the login box, but it might be the result of not logout properly.
let me knock the first error out, then try again :D

Great hack, works like a charm, most of the time.
Sometimes though, I just installed it so I'm not sure why or anything none of the links work. I can click wahtever a million times and nothing happens, it doesn't even try going to the link.
Anyone with idea's?
EDIT: BTW, I'm running 3.0.3 w/ 1.7 vbb wasn't a fresh install, but 4images was.

Fixed: The disappearing login box. I replaced the "page_header.php" form the working "gallery1" includes folder into gallery2 and gallery3 includes folders. At first, I edited the page_header.php file separately for each gallery increasing the chances of me making a mistake. So, the cause of the problem was poor copying and pasting on my part. :cross-eyed:
Not Fixed: The logout problem causing this error: "An error occurred while attempting to log you out. Click here to log out."
Most likely it is another editing problem on my part. So I am going to take my time and look over everything very carefully. And see if I can find another mistake I may of made. I'll let you know how it turns out.
Thanks again for your help.

there's something changed from 1.7.0 to 1.7.1 that deletingmyuserid value from the logout link. I have few copies in 1.7.0 workingfine, and one in 1.7.1 giving that error.
The idea is to add your userid into logout link.
will come back later with a fix.
Not Fixed: The logout problem causing this error: "Anerroroccurredwhileattempting to log you out. Click here to logout."
try this:
in page_header.php, line 110
replace
"url_logout" => (!empty($url_logout)) ? $site_sess->url($url_logout) : $site_sess->url(ROOT_PATH."logout.php"),
by
"url_logout"=>(!empty($url_logout))?$site_sess->url($url_logout):$site_sess->url($url_app."login.php?do=logout&u=$user_info[user_id]"),
and in sessions.php, take out the url_logout line:
replace
$url_logout = $url_app."login.php?do=logout&u={myuserid}";
by
//$url_logout = $url_app."login.php?do=logout&u={myuserid}";

I tried the new code, only in gallery1, and then signed in and out of gallery1 and the same error happened. The error is nothing major, basically just one extra click for the users.
But everything else is working amazingly well! :)

I tried on my album, and it works well.
when you get your mouse over logout link, do you see your useridattheend of that link? it should besomethinglike.../forum/login.php?do=logout&u=xxx
or you can try this code instead. if it gives error or doesnt work, give the other one back. I didnt test this one right now.
"url_logout"=>(!empty($url_logout))?$site_sess->url($url_logout):$site_sess->url($url_app."login.php?do=logout&u=".$user_info['user_id']),
regarding to Chrissicom post on his update for version 1.7.1:https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=609346&postcount=286
I dont see any differences in the filesconstants.phpandsessions.phpthatneed for the integration, exept forchangingcookietimeout valueand thisline: * Modified to workwithvBulletin3.0.6byChrissicom *
My code is some kinda messy, but I still ignore his constribution tothecode. The other two files might be for 4-images improvement, notforthis integration.

I am going to make a post about giving credit (on our sites) to people like mtha who help many in this forum and who ask for nothing in return.
note to others: I will post my site url to show as a sample of how you can use 1 vb forum with multiple 4images galleries once the site is made public.

actually I was intended to spend time cleaning up the instructions and fix bugs, but just never have time to have it done.
some quick questions, to those who use this hack, so I can release a new version, which can manage files better.
Do you want to use a seperate field in database for album_level or still use forum's user group?
- Advantage of using a different field for album level is: you canspecify who is album admin, and dont care if they are forum admin ornot. you may have seperate persons doing different jobs.
- Disadvantage: you will have to work more on the code to have it done,and change your database alittle bit :D, not too hard, I suppose, buteverytime you upgrade your vBulletin, you have to remember making thechange again.
If you think it's good and you want to have it that way, I will rewritethe code for the specific purpose. which supposed anyone who want touse it can install or upgrade :D

Let me see if I understand this corretly:
Option 1: Fix a few bugs, but basically leave the mod the same.
Option 2: The webmaster will now have the ability to choose who has admin privileges in the Gallery separate from those who have admin privileges in the Forum.
I just installed it. But am I right in assuming that as it is writing now, if one user has admin privileges in the picture gallery they will also have admin privileges in the forum? But after rewriting the Mod and adding a separate field in database for album_level, the webmaster will then have the ability to choose who has admin privileges in the Gallery separate from those who have admin privileges in the forum?
As my site grows, I am going to want to give some users the ability to validate pictures in the Galleries (making my job easier), which I believe requires them to have admin privileges. However, I don't want those same users to have admin privileges in the Forum. With that said. My vote is to "use a separate field in database for album level". The extra work needed to do this I believe, will pay off in the long run.

I'm trying to have another script integrated to vbulletin, using this (4images / vbulletin) as a model. The programmer however insist on synching the database. Is synching database the best approach? The blog system I want synchronize uses even less user info than 4images, just email, username, and password.
I've installed 4images Gallery 1.7 + vB 3.0.x and it doesn't seem to do any sychronization. I'm not a programmer, but is my assumption correct?

What do you mean by "synching database"?
For 4images 1.7, I just use vB user table, and ... ignore 4images' user table, what do I need to synchronize?
However, the "best approach" depends on what you are doing, and what you need. :D

I know this is off-topic, but i'm using your integration as a model for other scripts to be integrated with vbulletin.
Someone I was trying to hire to integrate vb and a community blog script insisted that synching is necessary to sync both the user tables of vb and blog. the sync script would detect changes on either user tables (vb, blog) and will make the updates.
The following is a different blog script from the one i'll be using and this one is integrated with phpbb, but look closely at the instructions. it uses the same principle of synching the user tables instead of ignoring one of user tables like you said.
http://linux1.no/phpbb_drupal/
"The phpBB integration code -drupal_integration.php - the code that checks for a Drupal session and inserts the user (or updates) the phpBB database."

That is a different way of integrating two systems. Which one is better, depends on what you are doing, and what you need.
Sync seems to be easier, (as I can understand) because you dont have to edit/change the way two systems does. They work seperately/independent. You just make two user tables the same at all time (assuming). You can make modification to profile at one or the other place.
This one tends to use one user table (forum user table). you have to go to forum's profile in order to make changes, but you just need one and only one user profile
If your programmer insists on sync, go his way :D, because he is the one who do the job.

One final thought: Why didn't u decide to just sync 4images with vb?

1. I didnt know how to do sync.
2. I am not the original author of this integration. Jan (who write 4images) did the integration for vB2, I just make it work with vB3.

Hello,
Since I have integrated my VB 3.0.7 with a fresh copy of 4images 1.7.1 ,,I got my 4images running very very slow, and sometimes it does not load at all. I have double checked that I have done the installation in the right way.
I facethis problem whenever I add a file into the album. (even a single file), you will see that your album is not running or running very slow. "I don't get any error messages" Whenever you delete all images(or files) from the album.. IT WORKS FINE!!
I mean it works fine as long as it is EMPTY !!!
I have another 4images working on my server on the same website since 3 years, working very fine without any troubles. It has more than 500 files, and works very fast.!!!
Really strange!
Any help?

try this:
- save all edited files somewhere
- upload the original files that you have for 4images
- try to run 4images seperately, upload files, test speed (assume that you have some admin account on album)
- re-upload the edited files and see how it works.
I've been using the integration for about 3 years now, having about 20000 images, and it runs fine

you must have not configured the variable for vB database right. check back the variable called USER_NAME in constants.php
Also, I don't get the last new imgaes added to the album . I just get "No new images", also the categories are empty from files or images, eventhough the total number of images is counted correctly in the homepage.!
do you have your "moderating" mode on? did you validate your images?
so, I get lost here. what do you have that is working, what do you have that giving errors? it does seems to me that you have different things installed with different problems?

it got freezed when you upload to your album WITH or WITHOUT the integration?

:speechless:
No, not different problems. I told you before that 1.7 gives no errors. But I have no explanation why it gets freezing most of the day!!!
The constants.php file configuration is fine, because when I put it with 1.7 it works fine, I just get the above error message with 1.6.1. (possibly the two files are made mainly for 1.7 not for 1.6.1)
There is no moderation to the images, because the images appear with 1.7 but not with 1.6.1.
What I can see that the freezing happens only when adding images or files WITH integration. (N.B. : I'm adding the files through a URL on the same server, not through the upload manager of the 4images program)
One more thing to say,, the admin control panel runs smoothly and never freezes!!. I guess the problem is somewhere in the sessions.php file!!
you can pass by my website and take a look
http://www.medkaau.com/album/index.php (this is my Documents and photos section which is 1.6.1 -NO- integration - its working for 3 years so great.)
http://www.medkaau.com/pda/index.php (my integrated 1.7 - it gets freezing most of the time, but sometimes its WORKING GREAT!!! - installtion is 100% correct) if you are lucky, then it will work with you without freezing.
http://www.medkaau.com/pda16/index.php (this is the inegrated 1.6.1)
I'm really getting crazy!! NO PHOTOS --> NO PROBLEMS ! :(
mmmmm, does this problem has anything to do with the SAFE MODE restrictions?

@Allan
You can
- try to edit whos_online.html template.
- check {lang_user_online} in language file
This must be something to do with 4images itself. you can try to look over 4images website too.

Same thing here, ever since the upgrade to vbulletin 3.0.7 the 4images gallery doesn't track the login. You have to relogin every time. It worked with installations up to 3.0.3 but I made the skip from 3.0.3 to 3.0.7. So something changed in there.

did u only follow the install instructions from the zip? or were there some fixs i have to do that i need to look for in 24 pages of this thread? XD
also i was looking at some pictures in the demo gallery, some of the pictures had a width greater than the design table that it was in. and it looked weird. is there a fix for that?

www.mogusland.com / www.mogusland.com/media is the gallery. The cookie no longer holds, and the template for logging in through the gallery has a NO FOREIGN HOSTS POST error.
So, thats where I am at. This started happening when I upgraded to 3.0.7. As soon as you close your browser, then go directly to the gallery, you are no longer logged in.

tell you what, why dont you download the zip file again, and check for all the places that need to be change, or in the other word, re-install the hack, as the instruction in the zip file (make sure you clear cache and download the new file).
Mine is working fine.
For the "big" image issue, that is template issue. it depends on HOW you want to display the images, make changes in "template/default/detail.html"

in sessions.php, line 33, did you put your licence number in there?
define('VBLICENCE_NUMBER', 'xxxxxxxx'); //REPLACE XXXXXXXX with your Licence Number, usually on top of your vB files
in constants.php line 47, you have one extra ; => remove it
define('WORDMATCH_TABLE', $table_prefix.'wordmatch');;
you did edit this files too, didnt you?

That is the exact purpose of the referrer check. It is designed to prevent an XSS-type issue.
If you wish to disable it, put this in your config.php:

You either did not config your forum prefix and/or did not install 4images and vbulletin in the same database.
If the first is the case, in constants.php, edit this line
define('VB_TABLE_PREFIX',''); // your vb tableprefix. vB default is blank
if the second is the case, then you need to install both of them in the SAME database.

Zombie, that option is in 4images under your settings... its not being answered because I can only guess that, is 4images job.
Which it is there. if you are an admin you don't need to validate a image unless you specify.

05-29-2005, 12:02 AM
Also, if people are having issues getting cookies to stick and login info kept intact and your forums are a subdomain... try making your gallery a subdomain as well. Apparently the cookies will require the same kind of setup with the recent release of vb 3.0.7 from what I understand.
So perhaps putting this into the READ ME file of this hack would benefit those like myself that struggled with forums on a subdomain and a gallery that wasnt after the vb update.

I posted a question about integrating this over at vB.com:
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=140646
I already posted about this in the first page of this post, but that was over a year ago (and the instructions for how to do it lost me) -- does anyone have any new tips/ideas?
As I said there, the only idea I have is to change all the user IDs of members of my gallery to some really high numbers, and then go back and change them to IDs that match their IDs at the board, but I guess that might be a problem if I'd have to change that on each user's pictures as well if pictures associate with the ID and not username or something.

05-30-2005, 03:57 AM
Just wanted to say this problem has been solved in the "old fashioned way." I am simply going through and editing every user's full set of pictures individually to match their board ID. :) It's taken me the last 9 hours so far, but I am a bit over halfway there.

I don't know if this has been posted here or not, but this regards UserGroups for vB and 4Images.
To use UserGroup permissions from the forums in 4Images, open the 4Images constants.php file and find-
// User groups level
$waitinggroups = array(3); // vB Group should be waiting for moderate. seperate each group by comma
$usergroups = array(2); // Groups that are USERS in album. seperate each group by comma
$admingroups = array(6); // vB groups that are ADMINS in album. seperate each group by comma
Then open your vB AdminCP, go to the UserGroups section, and take a look at your UserGroup ID numbers.
Add in the groups you want into whichever setting for the constants.php.
Example- I created a usergroup in vB that can't download stuff until they have so many posts.
So to prevent them from downloading in the Gallery as well, I add their vB user group number to the $waitinggroups array.
If I want my SuperMods to be admins on the Gallery as well, then I add their usergroup ID to the $admingroups array.
...and so on.
No need to create new fields in the database vB users table or anything.

I'm looking to install this on my new vBulletin 3.0.8 board, I've done the 4 images install but the hack to bring both together seems a little beyond me, I may give it a try if no one comes forward, I'd happily pay a small fee for the workdone.
PM me if your interested thanks.

Has anyone just joined 4images to 3.0.8 as a fresh install ? I'm looking to do this in around 12 hours time (8pm UK time) , any help or advice would be most welcome :rolleyes:

I'm running 4images 1.7.1 on vBulletin 3.0.7... I couldn't test 3.0.8 until now because my yearly license to download new versions from the members area is inactive and I won't renew the download access until 3.5.0 final is released, don't want to waste expensive time from the new year I would be able to download updates with release candidates ;)
But well, it's not much to edit on your vB files, I don't think that this one and only line has been changed since 3.0.8, it's the same since 3.0.0, normally it should work without problems =)
By the way, important for all users of this integration:
After you installed the hack, don't forget to include the new security fix from the 4images Homepage!
The original announce and fix thread of that security hole can be found here (http://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=8288.0), on the 4images Board, I've heard that the security hole has something to do with the sessions and it can be used to execute remote scripts on your server using to hack/damage your board/gallery/server or to spread things like spam emails for example through your server, don't know how it exactly works and what it can really do, but it really seems to be an important thingie you should care about... mtha, you should change this in your hack files, too, so the users whose will download the hack in the feature have this fix already included ;)
in includes/sessions.php:
Change this:
$user_id = ($this->read_cookie_data(COOKIE_PREFIX."userid")) ? $this->read_cookie_data(COOKIE_PREFIX."userid") : GUEST;
To this:
$user_id = ($this->read_cookie_data(COOKIE_PREFIX."userid")) ? intval($this->read_cookie_data(COOKIE_PREFIX."userid")) : GUEST;

Thanks for the confidence booster vBfreak :rolleyes:
I'm still putting off for now as my boards are pretty virginal, I may wait for 3.5.0 to be released and then do the whole lot together :nervous:

Did you replace session.php attached to your album file?
-------
Step 1.
-------
Edit the included sessions.php
Correct the variables in the Configuration part
* the following variables are important, MAKE SURE you have them correct:
* Dont forget the trailing slash
* you still need to check and make changes in the CONFIGURATION section
define('VBLICENCE_NUMBER', 'XXXXXXXX'); //REPLACE XXXXXXXX with your Licence Number, usually on top of your vB files
define('ALBUM_FOLDER','/album/'); //Your Album Folder WITH trailing slash
define('COOKIE_TIMEOUT','1800'); //Set the same with your vB timeout, in second
$url_app = "http://www.yoursite.com/forums/";
Replace the file sessions.php in your album /includes/ folder with this sessions.php

i tried transfering my gallery to a new server/domain and everything is fine, i ran the sql my database is up and running but when trying to get into the admin cp i keep getting this error:
In order to accept POST request originating from this domain, the admin must add this domain to the whitelist.
my only guess would be that it's because my gallery uses a subdomain system. and the gallery is at gallery.domain.com while my log in is at board.domain.com so what can i do about this?

Hey there :)
I gather this works for 3.0.7 okay? Everything seems fine, except the login box doesn't appear! I use 4Images 1.7.1 and have tried the various edits to the sessions and constants file, but it still doesn't want to appear :)
Edit: The box now appears. Yay! But when I log in, it thanks me for logging in, and takes me back to the gallery page and I'm not logged in. I've tried everything, and I've read all 27 pages about 10 times now :D
When I try to login to the gallery control panel, it just redirects me to the forum as well.

problem fixed. now what i'd like to know is, is it possible to have 4images comments use the vbulletin smilies?
and is it possible to have the comments in the gallery add to user's post count?
or have the number of images uploaded be shown in user's postbit/profile?

i have vb3.5 rc2 and have got this hack working - i think...
only problem was, after i went through every step, i could no longer log into my vb admin panel :O
so then i backtracked and left out the step of modifying the vb functions.php which gave me vb admin access again. not sure what the functions.php editing was supposed to do, but everything seems to work fine as far as i can tell?
Are you still running RC 2, or have you upgraded to RC 3? Any problems? Looking for a update for RC 3...

I am running this hack on 4image 1.7.1 with RC 3.... you don't have to touch the 4images files when upgrading from 3.0.x just change functions.php and functions_online.php as described. Only problem with RC 3 is that the logout link on the 4images page goes broken because it doesn't obtain the logouthash.

Quick fix for vb3.5.0 (tested on RC3):
Edit album/includes/sessions.php

$user_info = $site_db->query_firstrow($sql);
ADD BELLOW
$user_info['logouthash'] = md5($user_info['user_id'] . $user_info['salt'] . VBLICENCE_NUMBER);
Edit album/includes/page_header.php

LOOK FOR

I can't find the code you're refering to in my sessions.php...
I have a big problem, everytime I try to access the gallery via the forum I get logged out, and if I try to log in through the gallery I actually do get logged in, but also gets redirected to the forum frontpage. If I try to go back to the gallery, I get logged out again...

There seem to be problems with the session. A logged in user (in vb) does not appear logged in when in 4images. In addition I get several errors in php error log. Here is an example of the errors:

Well I haven't checked my PHP error log but I found what you were talking about. It appears though that if you were logged in 4images before you upgraded it, you would still appear logged in. So I logged out, and I cannot log back in. Doesn't display any errors or anything though, just acts like you are but when you are not.

There is a problem with the session since vb 3.5 seems to handle session information differently. If anyone knows a way to deal with this it would be extremely helpful!

Ok, I think this is it. Edit the file sessions.php in the includes folder of 4images.
Find:
($this->session_id = $this->read_cookie_data("sessionhash"))
and replace with:
($this->session_id = $this->read_cookie_data("bbsessionhash"))
Now everything seems to work just fine. I have NOT tested this thoroughly so use at your own risk! Please let me know if it works or if there are any other problems.

What can I do? Need help, the whole thingie isn't working anymore :/
For integration with vB 3.5.0, please check the following release:

Any support for vB 3.5.0 will be given over that thread!

Long time since the last activity....
However I'd like to ask if anyone has integrated his/her existing 4Images gallery V 1.7 into a vbulletin 3.6.8 ?
Really looking forward to find a solution to get my old gallery (900+ pictures ) into my new VB.
@mtha
As I do understand that all the coders do the work on hacks & mods for free, which is great, and they also have a real live beside this work, there is no way to demand anything. period.
However :)) I would be willing to spend some money to get this thing done.
Is there any chance ?
