Number of users---Need help

I want to put on my main page next to the link to the forum number of users registered... please tell me how to do that?

This is included in the default templates if you look at them you can see how this is done. There is no hack needed. Look at the forumhome template.

If you have overwritten your default templates you can find them in the Members Area on this site.
