I have an idea to rebuild phpnuke into something great while having the extensive number of mods, blocks, and modules that the original phpnuke has.

Please post if interested.

Only because its been around forever, if people keep using CMPS ;) it will have more.

I use vbportal as a cms, works well enough for any need I have had, and easy to add into if needed.

Ya, but it is made off of phpnuke meaning a heavy server load. I use VBadvanced CMPS right now(my site www.cnchangar.com), but I really think that it lacks a good articles system, and does not have a big community like phpnuke does. If we could rebuild vbadvanced to read phpnuke modules, or rebuild phpnuke so it actully is useful and quick, then it would be a big help to the vb community.

And.... PHPnuke has a load of modules because of its age & because all of the good coders go to free, so they can work off of it and make it better. The only good solution I think would be good if no one is interested in this is to use Fenix(www.samstech.net) which is releasing the end of this month.

Why not just wait until vBCms is out ? I am sure it will be the best :)

I was thinking about that, but then I relized that they probably will charge another 160 dollars to buy it.

So $160 for a good software is nothing IMO.

I would be happy to buy 3 of them at that price if they are half as good as vbulletin.

Where is vbportal? vba cmps keeps giving me database errors, I therefore have to seek an alternative.

It cost money , $20 but well worth IMO

$20 but well worth IMO I agree.

I have had a little trouble getting help there though, but I guess it's cause they're busy still developing it and don't have time to help with my.. picky needings. :)

But really, it is so far 95% of the way of everything I have looked for in a portal. And then some. Well worth $20 bucks.
