before i switched over to phpbb, I was using a hack that allowed me to post the latest posts and threads on a page outside the forum folder. The result was a page that fit seemlessly into my site format but displayed information from the forum.
Is there a hack for doing this with vb?

The hack would also allow me to have a login field on my home page. Has anyone seen anything like this for vb?

You can use a portal hack for what you want to do. There are two or three of them available for vBulletin.

can a portal hack add recent posts and theads to my homepage?
you can take a look www.therpgforum.com
As you can see, there is a link that says "What's Happening in the Forum"
This would originally take you to a seemlessly integrated page with the latest posts and threads. That was when i was using phpbb.

Thats what a portal does, you might want to take a look at vBadvanced CMPS or Homepage, or vBindex :)
