Activation E-mail...

I know this is not a mod question really but you guys here are the best! Is there any way I can speed up my activation e-mail? People re and then have to wait so long to activate their memberships...

Shouldn't be that long of a delay before they receive the activation email.. How long are they having to wait?

I've tested it myself a few times and I have waited as long as 30minutes.... Way too long...

i am gonna go out on a limb and guess that you are on a shared server/ virtual host.. it could be several things if that is the case.. first, talk to your hosting provider and see if they are doing any kind of weird priority or queue based mail system.. also, have them look at the server logs and see if there are any issues with sendmail (or whatever the smtp mailserver happens to be).. there potentially could be all kinds of snags in the line, so to speak.. start with basics first.. make sure there is no queue/priority.. logs.. have them look to make sure there are no issues with port 25 on the server..
