We have a group that wants to mimic the functionality of the online yahoo groups in our forums so that they can get rid of yahoo and start using vb and keep things "local" and ad-free etc. Plus, who wants to be forced into a yahoo account ;)
Problem 2: On yahoo you can create simple db tables - excel like tables simple enough for just about anyone to configure.
We use these for things like events for members of the group and if they will be attending or not. A simple table of usernames, events (at the top) and let them say yes, no, maybe, busy that day or whatever. Its so simple and crude in yahoo, yet makes a lot of sense. In vb this seems like it would take a major revolution to code up...
