I really think we need something like this, the feature added to HTL or be allowed to release HTL hacks by themselves.

This is the only reason my two -_- hacks on here go un-upgraded, because I'm too lazy to make standalone installers...

Yes, but this forces someone to install a hack to install a hack. which is a big no no in my book and in everyone elses.

I know this debate has been going on since the release of HTL and I know where vB stands on the whole thing, which is why I am not just releasing the HTL versions but waiting till I can manage to make a standalone installer. But... and this is a fairly obvious but, no-one is forcing people to install HTL to install a hack, if a person wishes to install a hack that is only HTL based then that's their choice but in the long run and as a developer HTL makes everyones life easier.

I didn't mean to reopen this topic as a debate on HTL I was just saying it would make my life a whole lot easier as well if there was a standalone installer somewhere that I could edit for my use instead of making my own from the ground up or a tutorial on how to make one.

Trust me, i helped to write the uCS installer, ive written my own installer, i know the pain, however when its done its worth the effort youve put into it. However i do think we should all get together and write a blank installer template, that would use vBulletins .xml files that it generates for languages and styles. :)

that would be awesome imo, some sort of vb hack writers pack :D

i'm getting closer to releasing my first hack/s so this is becoming more of an issue :(
