Yellow and Red Cards

Sorry I'm not sure if this is a hack or not but running a sports board I'm wanting to implement a yellow and red card warning system for members who misbehave. There is a similar system implemented at www.bigsoccer.com

can anybody explain to em if this is available, is possible and is a hack or not
