Would be best to link your forum in your post so it's easier for members to get to.

-Can't comment on the skin much as it is bought.
-Centered Who's Online etc. doesn't look good IMO.
-Too many forums for 18 members. Start small, and then expand as you get more members

www.tlgn.com ? ( Linking myself :\ )

I'm not a huge fan of portals, and the skin is bought which is just like a vbulletin default theme to me... No sense of originiality brought to the user except in a post.

Maybe you should consider rearranging your forum categories, or making more general topics to fit the forums in.

*edit*
I meant pre-made portals because they all look the same :)

Thx for the link ;) and I have to agree the design is "standard" but as for the portal side of things I thought this would be easier for people to use, and navigate.

You do say "maybe you should consider rearranging your forum categories .... "
Can you elaborate please :)

and thx for your input guys

Is this look (http://forums.tlgn.com/index.php?s=&styleid=59) any better ( design only ) will change the portal appearance later.

the text on that linked style is a little sketchy (the category font isn't bold???)

I prefer the default one you have now, alot easier to navigate and just looks better.

As for the forums, I mean cut down on the categories you have, and make more general categories and just move the forums you have now into those. (an example would be my forum www.communityforums.net ; I only have 4 categories, but all my forums are arranged into the broad topics)

I suggest the forum official stuff being at the very top rather then that bottom so it's the first forum(s) that are seen.

OK I have made some adjustments like reduced the ammount of forums, made a new skin, and a few other tweaks. Portal is still there but I find this is the best way to have it so it's easier to navigate.

The skin is still in some major need of finishing but due to me being rubish i'm getting kinda stuck on what to do next. ;)

you should maybe consider scaling down the number of forums till you have more members..

and this may just be me, but I hate the water ripple effect in the logo/header

I have made a few changes ( like removed a few forums ;) ) and as for the header that took me ages to do lol

Any better I know it's still the portal look which most don't like but is easier to navigate for users IMO.
