Looking for Dating Component -addition

Hello,

I am currently looking for a hack, or add-on that would allow the community to be used for dating site... Something like LavaLife or many other...

Each user already has a profile, I am using coppermine for photo gallery and both are linked...

I'd like to be able to add more profile info, and some cool search features...

Has anyone worke on anything like this? Can anyone help me out with this?

Why not use magnus's vbgarage hack and alter it to your liking,it allows for thumbnailed pictures with a text area that uses bbcode.
Also it makes a list of the members garage(or in your case personal ad).
Im using this on my site right now :cool:

im still working on adding some things but with a few changes this may help you.

I guess it would be customised member screen...

When displaying members, I'd like to see the member picture on the left, with summery of the member info (eg hight, age, etc..)
Clicking on the member would give you detailed member info, link to coppermine if they have private gallery, and ability to send messeges (current messaging system is fine.)

I don't think this will take too long to code, in the future I'd like to be ablet to have the posibility of charging for the service... but that is in the future...

Anyone who thinks they could do this, please let me know how much it would cost me.

it would be good if u can allow non members to access your VBPersonals page... very troublesome to sign up just to view it.

not necessary... imagine if i use this script and u must sign up just to view the profiles? its kinda troublesome for visitors (non members)

sites like match.com doesn't restricts u rite? it still alows u to view, do a search, but to use any more function then u gotta sign up.

I think that most of the search stuff can already be done from the advanced member search options ... Just create the relevent fields and make them searchable.

The only things I think are missing is the search age feature which I requested earlier today in another thread and a checkbox to verify the member has a picture.

As far as I can tell the way it is actually displayed on a profile will just be a matter of editing the html in the templates.

I know lavalife ... but why copy something that's already been done?

I woldn't want to copy it, but have it based on that look and functionality... I think it is one of the best sites out there.... which is pretty cool.

My site is 100% free, and I am planning on keeping it that way... another cool thing would be add a Journal for each of the profiles which could be visible by others...

I am trying to come up with things that would make the community a complete site where people could do anything they want to :)

Forum is great, games are great, dating component would make it even better :)
