Well as you know, there have been many journal systems mentioned but the only one to be released was a basic port of the vB2 hack vBJournal 1.1b, which is currently riddled with bugs and other problems..
For the last few days, I've been working on fixing up this release, making it much more vB3 standardised and fixing any bugs and problems associated with it. So far, i've been rather successful and the progress can be seen in the topic at EvB (http://www.everythingvb.com/showthread.php?t=148). Once ready, it will be released as vBJournal 1.1c with all previous copyright remaining in tact (probably won't be released here at vB.org because Ryanangel never replied to any e-mails sent to him asking for permission to port his code).
I am however, having a couple of problems with the timestamp (it appears to be about 9 minutes off the set board time) and the entry # (a bug I thought i'd fixed, but the pagenav throws it off somewhat). I'm by no means a PHP expert and have simply tried to fix up what was provided, but these 2 problems have me stumped..
If you think you can help, please get in touch (contact info in my profile) and if successful, you'll be listed in the copyright of the hack.. :) Many people are waiting on the release of a stable journal system, but vBJournal 1.1c can't be that until these 2 bugs are squashed..
