Actually, I meant I see exactly the pics that you just posted not too long ago. It's not exactly blank, just no phrases (sorry, I didn't make that clear)

the insternal server error is definitely that you don't have the directory set in your admincp>referralstats setup. if your hosted on a linus server, it's prolly gonna be something like

/home/username/public_html/forumroot/

when i did this, it gave me a chdir error cuz i had forgotten the preceding "/" in front of home. putting this is made the referral stats work fine.

to enter in the directory in your admin, go to that page, and the first box is where you put the path, save, and you should be all set on the user end.

I have updated the zip file again to reflect changes in the install of this hack. I have also updated the installation instructions.

I have updated by board to version 3.0.6 and I uninstalled this hack completely, then I ran the installation through the auto installer and smack dab, everything is working correctly. Try following the new instructions...

i finally did the upgrade to the new version.

Im having 2 small issues...

1. Can't see "referaal Statistics' option in admin panel. Its there... but hidden. See attached pic.

2. I do not get the full text on the configuration settings.!! what cud be missing? the phrases? how can I ad those?


3. what does RESET REFFERAL do now in the new version??? the option in admin panel under USERS. it open a BLANK page when i click on it. does it needs to be removed?

paws - make sure you followed the instructions from start to finish. Make sure that when you set-up the referral statistics in the admincp that you entered in the full path to your vbulletin forum example: /home/www/mywebsite/vbulletin/forums/ including the last backslash.

t3media - You should be fine upgrading, just download the latest zip file and follow the instructions start to finish. :)

I had Rex check it out... he doesn't know why it doesn't work either. The Internal Server Error did disappear (before Rex looked around), but I get this error: Warning: chdir(): No such file or directory (errno 2) in /referrals.php on line 18

css59 - you will only get that and no date unless you do a full reset on referrals. This will reset all members referrals to zero and start a new competition. Only perform a reset once you upgraded to the latest version. This way it will still keep track of who was referred by whom even when you perform a reset. :)

Or you can enter a date in manually using phpmyadmin and just enter a date in the referrals table with the field date. :)

Hey G. same thing just happened for me for a friends page. The option to put the full path doesnt arrise before the "hidden" phrases start. I think this is due to upgrade. Upgrade from what verison? I think users that have your older version will be missing phrases.

the screen goes blank. the tag under username is hidden its like a mariobrothers game. its inbetween the two codes. almost like your var have nothing in them.

and the template has lost all sense of pagnation. It doesnt bother me much wasnt my system but to be honest these peeps you said cant follow instructions are right.

Actually your installer is straight forward. So I cant see how they would mess up phrases. I also get a database error. I am sure it is due to prefix. I dont want to mess with it... wait till you get a update.

I installed the 2.1 v when u fixed the phrase's issue. Apparently, the problem did not fix itself. But when i logged out of admin panel and logged back in the second time... everything worked flawlessly. I have read lots of messages of ppl having issues with the path to refferal.php and i do not think it is an issue with the mod but ppl not understanding the instructions.

Also, as a suggestion, if u can include a mannual install instruction, that will help ppl like us - who are not too techie but still techie enough to modify vB with some instructions. Overall, the hack installed OK for me.

This has nothing to do with any other hack. This will just show you referral statistics. I would assume that it works with ucash/ushop without any problems, because it doesnt even have anything to do with it. If some one referrers somebody else, then they get points for that referral towards the shop, this just keeps track of who has referred who, ect.. Just a good hack if your looking for referral statistics. :) SO CLICK INSTALL AND INSTALL IT...

Umm, how would this work with the store hack ?

The store hack gives credits (points) as soon as someone refers someone, this hack makes it possible to wait with referral count until a set number of posts have been made by the referred.

Is that set number of posts only for the statistics ? wouldnt the store hack just give the referrer his reward instantly ? Or would the referrer get his points when the referred had made a certain amount of posts ?

It would work as normal. However the other hack works now. It makes no change to that hack or how it works. So all this does is show statistics on who has referred whom and YES you can limit the results shown to how many posts they have made or what usergroups they are in... :) Your other hack will run like it does now...

- I didn't see that your forum was in the /forums/ directory. Do this and your fixed. :)

If you follow the link that I posted above you will see an error at the top of the page. This is because you need to set the path to your forums directory in the "referral statistics settings" under the admincp if you dont know how to find this, please check the installation instructions. You must follow all the steps of the installation instructions in order to install this hack correctly. There is no need to have me as an admin at your site and just for a heads up, dont offer that to anyone!! :( Someone could really screw-up your site on purpose or not. :(

By reading the instructions...... :( !!!!!!

You have to set the full vbulletin path in your admincp under referral statistics and then configure referral statistics. That will fix your problem which has already been addressed i dont know how many times before your post. Take the time and read the instructions and other peoples posts, because many issues will have already been addressed. :)

This shouldnt affect the scheduled tasks, it has nothing what so ever to do with it. You might want to try to run a database repair and optimization in the admincp panel.

I found the problem. I did it as an upgrade, but I was using an old version of referral statistics. Had to re-install as new and add the code in the function)online file.

-Sorting options (by username, referral count, etc)
-Adjust the design to look more like the default vB design. (table widths, pagenav, headings, etc.
-ability to toggle on/off show only those referred members who have been active within the past x days.

What I would love to see in this hack:

-When a user is logged in, the url of any page they view is appended with "&ref=USERNAME" tag following the rest of the URL. This allows a person to paste that link on any other site or send it to a friend to refer them easily.

-Payment integration and tracking: Any referrals give the referrer a monetary reward of like $0.10-$1.00 per user if the referred user makes more than 5 posts or something. The admin can pay any user once their balance reaches a certain amount via paypal (this last part doesnt need to be integrated, just tracked)

With those two hacks, this would be the bestest hack ever cause everyone knows that if u motivate people through money, you'll get a lot more users much faster... :)

I'm willing to pay for these additions too gspot, if you're listening :D

I have not touched referralstats.php, it lies in my admincp dir
index.php and other file edits have been done appropriately.

Although, I noticed a small bug in install/upgrade files, I have modified the admincp dirs, somewhere while using the newinstallation or upgradation, I noticed the links were redirecting to /admincp and not the /modifiedadmincp dir.

Okay, yes I am using different usergroups. I had admin, moderator, supermoderator, registered students and then 4 others. I'm not sure how I change that in the php file. I would love it if you could help me out with that when you get a chance, but I know you're busy so take your time!

edit: I need it to work for all of my usergroups - how can Ido that? Also, I tried switching it to my usergroup and when I opened that page all there was was a 1 in the middle column - nothing else.

I had the same problem but instead of posting the full directory i just put a / where Im suppose to put the full directory and that worked.

It would be nice to remove referrals from this list while not touching the over all vbulletin list. in other words jen got 10 new members. peter got 5. that is 15 in all. reset... now jen has 0 new members but has 10 from the past. peter has 1 (joinned last night) now he has 6 1 now and 5 from the past...

then the global erase will remove everything.

Since you seem to be the expert on this board when it comes to "Referal" type hacks, I was just wondering if there is any way that this hack could be adapted to meet this request from this (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=77756) thread?

Is there or can someone create a way for the following to happen?

A user(u1) refers two new users (u2)&(u3) to the site.
For every post that (u2) or (u3) makes, a tally(refered posts?) is given to (u1).

User (u2) refers user (u4).
For every post that user (u4) makes a tally is given to (u2) and (u1).

I would like this to be seperate from the users own post count.

The idea stems from a way to not only encourage users to refer new users, but refer quality users and continue to encourage them to be active members of the board. I see it like a pyramid scheme. User (u1) gets "points" for every post someone he refers makes. The tree continues down the line of referals. Damn, I wish I could explain it more clearly.

If possible, integration with a points system (uCash/uShop) would be great.

I think that it would be extremely useable and help a lot of forums out with gaining and retaining memberships and forum content.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them. Please bear in mind I am not a programer or coder, just a guy with an idea. Feel free to tell me it's impossible.

1) admin ability to add a 2nd navigation to the bottom of the results (on/off)
2) admin ability to show total number of referrals for each member since joined (on/off)
3) No more inserting your forums path manually. (auto fix)
4) Less queries
5) Bug fixed in reset referrals by member (thx T3MEDIA :) )
6) admin ability to show last reset date (on/off)

** I know you all still want the limit results by referrers referrals, but trust me I'm working on it and its a pain in the a$$... Can't seem to get it to work without way to many queries.. Huge server load...

Actually this is already implemented guys :) all you need to do is insert in that usergroupid number that you want it to only track and boom there it is... :) ENJOY

He may not know how to edit his database to "fix" the problem ...

Once this error message is created, there is no way to fix it from the admincp without manually going into the database and editing limit1, limit2, and limit3 as necessary ...

There really *does* need to be an error trap coded to catch this "problem" ...

Once I figured out what the problem was (looking at the error message kind of made it obvious <grin> ... it was missing the conditional) ... then it was simply a matter of pouring through to code only to figure out that it was in the database ... fixing problems in the database is easy <grin> ... fixing code without breaking something else is a different story <grin> ...

I clicked install earlier ...

One sad thing about the Installl button ... it only lets you do it once ... I have 8 vBulletin licenses ... and your hack will be on at least three of them by the end of this weekend ...

Only if you dont follow the instructions when limiting the referral results by either usergroupid or number of posts. Most people never got that error, but if you add a limit to the results, and forget to setup all limits, then yes youll need to run it once. But you should be fine. :)

oztrack - You need to type in the full path to your forums root directory in your admincp area under the referral statistics configuration. The full path is like example:
/home/www.gspotracing.com/public_html/fourms/ including the backslash at the end. If you dont know what your full path is, try using just a backslash and seeing if the error goes away. This will be fixed in the next release. Many people do not know their full path and we are faced with this issue. Let me know, others say that the backslash alone fixes that error.

on the referrals.php page did it change the version from 2.2 to version 2.3 all over the page where needed to? I didnt see it updating it correctly, did it work on yours? It also didnt seem to be over-writting the old templates being used with the new templates.

Try to re-install, if it asks you to un-install do it, then run the full install... That will fix everything. Let me know, nothing will get lost or removed....

There are many code fixes in it as well as many options for the admins to control what they want their members to see and not see. Such as:

1) Another pagination menu at the bottom of the results
2) total number of referrals since joined
3) And a few more options.

I highly suggest upgrading to this new version, it will enhance your referral statistics to their optimal performance. Its a release that has been needed for sometime now. If you guys have any other suggestions or options that should be added, please suggest them now for the next release in the future.. :)

It will reset users referral total forum-wide. So no it wouldnt be available once you reset the referrals, but if you don't need to reset them, then don't. :)

OK I went back thru, uninstalled and reinstalled, and now it works fine... just as long as I'm using my site's default style. Any other style loaded and I get a blank referrals.php page.

on the referral statistics configuration in the admincp you dont type in (id:6) it would be just the (6) that will fix your problem. :)

You are having this problem do to adding your own personal images not correctly in the navigation bar. Have you installed any other hacks? Also when you add your own images into the navbar make sure you type in their absolute paths example: http://www.test.com/header.gif

No one else has ever had this issue so I believe this is the reason and the problem that you are having. :)

you need to edit your navbit template in the admincp and point your images to their absolute paths like i explained above. The links need to be updated in the footer template.

Also make sure that the referrals.php is grabing your global.php file correctly. To do this check the path in the referrals.php coding if you have moved the global.php file to a different location.

Yes, this is already integrated. You need to find out what usergroupid the paid subscription is and set this up in the referral statistics configuration area, located in the admincp.

You need to use the admincp var for those that use different admin and modcp directories. The hack says to upload them, but that's because it's looking in the wrong directory. FYI

ALso your link code to insert in the footer is incorrect.

It would also be nice if somebody could tell me how to get the referal pages to use the full screen and not some rinky dinky small middle column of the page.

okay, every portion of the hack has been removed. now when i try to load acp nothing is in the body, the links load to the side. if i right click and open them in another window they will open but if i try to use it as normal, click and option, and have it load in the acp body like it is supposed too IE reports the following error:

when i load the admincp thru firefox i get no errors, but when you click on the links from the left it pops up new windows.... instead of loading it in the main page.

i have not installed any other hacks today. this is the only hack that could have caused this, it was working fine before.

in fact i still have a admincp window open from BEFORE the hack that is working correctly that I am afraid to close! LOL

Where would you change the value(s) within the auto-installer for an admincp directory that was altered during initial installation of VB?

Rather than using the default AdminCP it was changed to AdminCP****

Does the Autoinstaller actually modify all variables needed? Been reading the section and appears some have had issues with Table Pre-fixes, etc etc.

Sorry, but copying an idea is totally different than copying actual code. Have you look at her code to see if she is using any of your code from your hack? If she is not, then she is not in viloation, per say.

Boofo, credit where it's due. I swear I had started making my hack when I saw his, and I saw his cause a friend of mine told me when I told him what I am making! Given these circumstances I don't want to give him a credit he does not deserve. I give credit to people that even helped with the templates a bit, like Conqsoft, but he hasn't helped in anything nor given me the idea so there is no reason to give him credit.

About the code, see for yourselves, I paid a look to his and it's totally different, in fact I don't understand his code much. Mine is so messy that it is vry unlikely to be similar with anything :p

I did not know of your hack when I had the idea so I don't want to give credit where it's NOT due. You are just jealous of my hack and want to find ways to get it out of here, but if you complain, you know they will actually look at the two hacks and they will see if had stealed anything from yours.

I thought of a great idea ... I thought it would be really neat to breath ... then someone told me that someone else already thought of it and had written instructions about how they thought the best way to breath was ... they thought you should breath in deeply in a systematic regular pattern...

This hack is excellent. Although I cant seem to get it configured, and I cant get the actual referrals.php page to show up. This is the error I get in the AdminCP Statistics configuration:
