I come from wBB forum software and have whitnessed the power of vBulletin 3, and might I say I am mighty impressed.
I took the admincp demo and it took me an hour to read all the options.
Anyways, enough with the spam.
As you can understand Im very interested in the vBulletin Owned licence, but $180 is sorry to say abit too much for me and my coadmin, even for vB.
I just got out of reading the Be Smart thread for the 3rd time, and I understand that this site aint a marketplace for 2nd hand licences. I have tried google, but Im afraid Im too balls with it.
*getting closer to a grand point in this*
Can anyone PM me or direct me to somewhere deemed safe(r) to buy a 2nd hand licence, preferrably with as few months left in the members area (Im on a fast connection) as possible?
Please help bring another happy user into the joy of vB.... :)
Thanks in advance.

i don't actually know for certain but i don't think it's actually allowed, and after reading something a while back, i think the initial owner will always retain ownership so i would make you sure that whoever you buy from corresponds with vB to transfer ownership via email and make sure you get copies of all emails.

Yeah I read all of the precautions and do's/dont's.
If it wasnt allowed, would they give off a guide on how to do it? XD

You are more than welcome to try to get a second hand license, its just not advisably the best idea, as alot of people do scam others, take the money and run.

It is $160. I would strongly suggest avoiding "used" licenses as they devalue over time, are overpriced, and most importantly, are quite often just scams.

How can you call people selling VB licenses "Scams" this is wrong. I have purchased a few VB licenses over the years this way and a bargain can be found.
Not all sellers are "Scammers" like some people make out them to be but what I will say is be carefull with whom your buying them from.
Go to webhostingtalk.com and place a wanted post in there and when someone comes back with an offer, use there post count like using the ratings system on Ebay, the more posts they have, the greater the chances they are a good seller.
Not all seller are crooks you know.

anybody selling a license at webhostingtalk has to have the license validated by a mod there to be sure the license is valid. But there is always the problem of a chargeback.

How long does an owner have to make a charge back? Is there a time limit?
I assume if there's a time limit and the used licence is over that time limit then the charge back isn't a problem.
Can someone confirm if there's a time limit for a charge back?
Thanks
