Hi, we've just taken over the moderation of some gaming based forums using VBulletin.
We received a dump of a database and a set of files for the site which we have installed fine. I then purchased a 3.0.1 license and upgraded the site which also went fine.
Trouble is the company that provided us with the site did not supply any administrator user passwords, and I am unable them. We need to preserve all the historical content in these forums for obvious reasons, so I cannot install 3.0.1 from scratch and make a new administrator.
So, I'm wondering how to manually add an admin to the database, or to retrieve one of the admins passwords and decrypt it.
I tried to turn the site back on after the upgrade by setting the field BBActive to 1 in the Setting table, but this did not work (I thought maybe I could get the email at the mailserver when requesting a password reset by entering an Admin username).
Not sure if this is a stupid question or not, but hopefully it's ok and in the right forum. Look forward to any answers.
p.s I absolutely loved the upgrade interface for v2 to v3, great work.
