Can already be done with usergroup promotions and secondary usergroups

Why reinvent the wheel, it can be done very very simply this route :)

I have a bad habbit of complicating things... off to alter usergroups. Shouldn't you be working on the Shop? ;) j/k

I need this also.. I have a complex usergroup setup, creating promotions would throw off everything.
