I'm looking at finding a way to allow users to delete their own membership if they so choose to. I had this hacked into my old board and it saved a pile of time and hassles whenever a member was upset and wanted to "quit" the forum. Perhaps a check box with a confirmation screen or something on the user options page that removes their listing from the user table? Anyone have something like that available or know where to find a copy of the script mods?
For month now I´m looking for this one, too.
For security reasons it should be an option which has to be confirmed by a link in an email (similar to the confirmation of the registration process).
If a user decides to end his membership his/her user status should change to "guest" and all posts should remain in the forums.
Anyone out there who could spent some time on that ? Would be really appreciated !

there is no official release of a "delete my account" feature anywhere, and i told Bryan Ex that i would release one soon... i'm looking on a final way to do the script secure, and that's it, i will release it in no long.. maybe by the end of the week... as i have other things to deal with.

Jesus, hell no,
just imagine one of my users with ~1000 posts and nearly ~200 started threads would be allowed to delete all his posts?
This single user could smash the whole information which is located in this thread. Remember - vB deletes not only a single post if postings of a particular user are pruned. In case the post is a starter for a whole thread everything becomes deleted - all answers included !
If this option should be selectable by users I would like to have the option for admins to disable the $prune_userposts_in_case_of_self_deletion.
nexialys, do me a favor please - name this function $kamikaze ;)

I believe someone is working on it now and I'd expect them to post to vB.org when ready.
