View Full Version : Reply by Email - Need Help w/Functions

I'm trying to port over a reply-by-email hack that I was using on vB2. I was using Gimp's version HERE (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=36899) and it was working perfectly. Apparently neither Gimp nor Chen are able to port their hacks right now, but Gimp's should be really easy.

It will be cake if I can convert some functions. Specifically:

verifyid()
getthreadinfo()
getpermissions()
updateuserforum()
getforuminfo()

If I could learn the vB3 equivalents of these, I could have this script up and running in no time and added to vb's cron. Any help would be appreciated :)

Uh-oh. I guess it's not technically a "Beta Release" if it doesn't work? :o Maybe a mod can move it... Sorry...

I, too am looking for the VB3 Implementation of GetPermissions. Working with one of the Ticker hacks and tried fetch_getpermissions and it returns me a PNF error in I.E.
Please advise...

Hi, this is the hack I'm talking about. I'm trying to get it working in VB3 and GetPermissions isn't there - I'm wondering how to get around this so that the ticker will work.

Did you succeed in updating the reply by email hack?

I just spend two hours reading every thead I could find about 'reply by email' hacks. It appears that every single one of them is in the 'modification graveyard' - so code can't be downloaded for study and no solution is currently in active development or working condition.

People might hate me, but I see myself bumping threads to ask if anyone that ever installed any of the old hacks found ways to keep them going and has the code available.
